I have a PhD from a state school. I really think getting only a bachelors degree from the likes of Harvard, Yale, etc would be more valuable. Like if I was the exact same person, but one version got the PhD from a state school and the other version just got a bachelors degree from Yale, that Yale version would be given more opportunities and would make more money.

Those Ivy schools are a cheat code. You just have to get in. They’ve done studies and classes at Harvard/Yale are no more difficult than classes at state schools. The value comes with the name recognition
I think the networking is one of the biggest advantages. Those connections last forever. Networking got me way further than my college degree will ever get me. So much information gets passed down but you just have to know the right people to get it. Getting into an ivy will get you into those circles.

I’m not cheering anything. I want AA to be rewritten to benefit ADOS only

Supreme Court will consider challenge to affirmative action in college admissions

By the end of the year, it'll be gone. This court is super conservative and the fact that they accepted the appeal (after to lower court decided to side with it), definitely means they plan to get rid of it.

Elections have consequence people.

:yeshrug: The #POC coalition don't want AA, neither do white women. It was never "for us," btw.

Elections have consequence people.

So black people didn't Democrat, enough? What does this mean?

Yeah, this was going to happen eventually anyways:yeshrug:

White women & immigrants basically got all the benefit of Affirmative Action, while ADOS got the blame and the shame of it

Whatever happens to uplift the Black community is not going to come from elitist ass White institutions.
Time to invest in our own schools:francis:

I know guys still want to buy that logic that in order to be successful, you have to be some high powered doctor, lawyer, or in the STEM fields from an Ivy League, but there's plenty of successful Black folks who didn't go to Harvard, Yale, or Princeton.

I mean, just look at this list of names.

Kamala Harris - Howard

Lonnie Johnson (inventor) - Tuskegee

Thurgood Marshall - Howard

John W. Thompson (Microsoft Chairman after Bill Gates) - Florida A&M

Sylvia Adams (Surgeon General) - Hampton

David Satcher (Director of CDC) - Morehouse

Katherine Johnson (Hidden Figures) - West Virginia State

I don’t want discrimination against NonADOS I just believe ADOS should get special consideration.

So why destroy that entire law, when you could have built that instead?

Bite off your nose to spite your own face. Stupidity. Taking away rights for ADOS doesnt make it "better" or "more on code". Thats tyranny!

In Texas I believe the top 10% of every high school class is automatically accepted into the state schools. After we win the governorship in Georgia and places like Alabama why couldn’t we implement something like that?
That’s one of the cases that will be cited to the SCOTUS to do away w/ AA. It’s not even affirmative action since they take the holistic approach (Fisher v. UT). That lil whiny ass broad was t even in the the Top 10% of her class and ended up at LSU. I barely had the grades to get into UT grad school but my life experience is what gave me a bump

Again I or any other other ADOS were not for advocating the dismantle of AA. You need to blame the Democrats for not fortifying it.
