:yeshrug: The #POC coalition don't want AA, neither do white women. It was never "for us," btw.

So black people didn't Democrat, enough? What does this mean?

Black voter turnout in 2016 was atrocious. Trump won in part because of this. He acknowledged this himself and thanked the non-voters publicly. Trump got numerous supreme court Justice picks and installed more conservative judges than any President before him. Resulting in what we are seeing now.

If we had a President Hillary Clinton affirmative action would still be protected. Period. In fact we'd have a Supreme Court eager to EXPAND liberal policy and ideas...such as....perhaps...reparations....

Yeah, we didn't vote enough in large numbers for the liberal candidate in 2016. So now we are paying for it. Facts. Expect more of this with every conservative victory in America.

But ima let you contrarian nikkas fall for Tariq Nasheed, Yvette Carnell, "both sides" otherworldly fantasies.

Again I or any other other ADOS were not for advocating the dismantle of AA. You need to blame the Democrats for not fortifying it.

:russ:
My nikka vote Republican and get it over with. The way some of yall will find ANY WAY to divert anger away from conservatives and turn it towards Democrats is almost comical.

Republicans can reinstate slavery and yall would be on some "well this is a good thing. Now our people (ADOS) can wake up. Democrats let this happen!"

As long as affirmative action in the workplace isn't overturned, I don't care.

Besides, black folks who get into these so called elite college on their own merit are usually lumped in together with AA recipients which in turn gives the impression that black people are academically inferior.

Hbcus are still a thing and crying about this is actually embarrassing imo.
Exactly. Can't have it both ways. Just have to deal with it.
Affirmative action is mostly window dressing when it comes to a lot of these institution. A lot of black people would have done well in a major that means something at a state or local college. Instead they arrive ill prepared and are thrown in the meat grinder and have to switch to some bullshyt major like sociology while accumulating five or six figure debt. And for what? Just for tokenization.

Asians used affirmative action to get in. Once they got in, they wanted more on some “let’s take from the blacks and Hispanics” so they pushed to remove affirmative action :mjlol:

What does this even mean. The colleges where this is even an "issue" are all private expensive elite colleges that can still pick and choose who they admit according to their published criteria :yeshrug:.
I guess there is always the risk those institutions just start admitting all chinese people and then there would be no legal protections but that seems unlikely and every thing they've done up to this point suggest they won't be doing that.

UNC isn't a private institution. They are one of the colleges in the lawsuit.

A sociology degree from Princeton will open more doors than a computer science degree from the University of Nebraska.

And by that I mean the Yale grad will have a much easier time going to a top 14 law school, an ivy business school, med school, etc...

A lot these threads expose who’s actually a part of the corporate workforce.

imagine thinking learning ‘trades’ is a acceptable replacement for an Ivy League education brehs. I have an ADOS friend who finished from Yale’s business school. He’ll be earning upper six-figures for the rest of his life.

Ethiopians in Virginia voted Republican I would never do that. And I never said this getting repealed was a good thing.

It's not going to happen. These universities are just going to be more white. They will not allow these universities to be fully asians

That’s fine. It just means that Asians can’t use the AA excuse anymore. Tired of them acting like black folks are holding spots that would go them.

The biggest beneficiary of Affirmative Action?

White women.

Not sure it'll affect us nearly as much as people think. It may push some white women out and more Asians into school. Legacy admissions is a much bigger problem at the elite schools but no one talks about that.

Basically, rich white boys are swapping out white coeds for Asian coeds at school.

It'll affect Black people, even if it's not quite working in our favor right now.

But you're correct. Affirmative Action benefits white women and Asians more than Black people.

Getting rid of affirmative action completely isn't the wave. It needs reform, not removal.

Man, I teach all my students strategies to know whether college is necessary for them. If it is necessary for their career path, we go over tools they can use to ensure they pick the right school (not necessarily the most prestigious, closest place when friends/ family went, etc.) Kids need to know upfront what their career path could be, how much they stand to make, how much the school costs, and how to find this information way before senior year when they apply. They are fed so much shyt, honestly a lot of kids go because of the pressure, not to mention the feeling of uncertainty that next step after high school brings.

That dude doesnt understand that. He really hates anything that requires white collar work that black people can work in.

This case is only looking at race based affirmative action; I don't think gender based AA is even a part of it.
And the bigger issue with this is when this conservative court strikes down race based AA in higher education, the conservative judicial activists will pivot to getting rid of race based AA in the workplace.
