After watching 5 mins of soccer at the gym I see why it'll never pop in America

Explain why hockey isn’t popular then cause it looks like the hardest sport to play out of all the major sports
Does it? I just see it as a sport for people with wealth opportunity and ice opportunity to play. I don't see the rare genetic god given gifts on display that you see in the NFL or NBA of top .1% athletes

Anyone who watches a full game of real soccer knows how fukking difficult it is to score. I remember some quote to the effect of "every goal is a minor miracle". shyt really do feel that way.

That's the reason it won't take off in america. Baseball wouldn't be popular either if every game ended 2-0.
The difference is a pitcher dominating is still entertaining on a different level. Teams in soccer playing defense isnt fun to watch

you would have been better off aborted. I see you failed reading as well as math class.....if a basketball player can make 5/6 3 pointers from 22ft and make 10/10 from the free throw line through 82 games...that is not luck dummy....there's demonstrated skill and and consistency as evidenced by their ppg there that most people could not achieve

If you score 1 goal every 3 games...after 10-15 attempts...that is not a skill. Most people would have the same probability of making it. And get off this "world class defender" crap...no one buys it :heh:

leave your pride at the door and just admit soccer is a simple sport that requires minimal skill where scoring is mostly based on luck. "futbol" nikkas can claim that it's deep all day....you kick a ball into the net if you're lucky....there's nothing else to understand. it aint deep, or complex. Period. I don't care how many cities or stadiums yall burn down over it
Steve nash played soccer but couldn’t go professional yet won mvp in NBA. Embid plays soccer but couldn’t go pro so went to basketball :umad:

Put an nfl player or nba player on the pitch with KDB and watch KDB make them look like toddlers with his passing, his touch, his creativity, his intelligence of the game, etc.
as he should...it's his sport of expertise...I'm not saying an nfl player would be equal to the best soccer player....but with their skill set and natural ability with training they could become pro soccer players in a competitive league....I don't see messi or any of these others having the skillset to play in the nfl regardless of training...their great "footwork" wouldn't be comparable to the best college/nfl skilled positions.

Except these weren't just tourist immigrants here. In fact, most of them weren't. Most where blacks and regular azz white americans along with immigrants. when you leave major urban big cities, the popular plummets for most things.
your experience...your story...i see this in nyc when the world cup is going on...the bars in lower manhattan fill up with tourists/immigrants and white people trying to fit in...once you leave the cities where the populations have less immigrants and tourists...the bars have on baseball, football basketball etc

I'm not saying that it doesn't....but so do skilled positions in other pro sports.... for example...I think it'd be easier to turn a RB/CB/SS/WR into a soccer player than to turn a soccer player into a pro football player...furthermore pro football players can demonstrate their skill with a measurable outcome in yards gained, and TDs scored....soccer players really can't...scoring 1 out of 15 attempts every 3 games isn't evidence of any skill imo...which essentially just makes them skilled foot shakers. All that incredible footwork doesn't translate into anything worthwhile. Hence why you see people running around for 3 hours in a 1-0 score.

in all honesty...i don't think Americans really talk down about soccer becomes there's a sensative cultural/political component to it...but if soccer was forced to be judged on its merit....it would get clowned alot more.

NFL has soccer players in it already :dead: Along with dudes who were basketball players but played maybe a year or two of football in high school or college :laff:

And I already posted video in here of Chad Johnson not being good enough for the MLS level and that was someone who actually played the sport as a kid.

Nobody would say Messi would. Nobody who follows teh sport would say any soccer player can do what an NFL or NBA or MLB player in their respective leagues can do. But I'm saying that even most of the best players from the league would probably be as good as 3rd division players at best.

So your example is about pro football players who played it as a kid and didn't make it into MLS? :mjlol:

Stop comparing it to baseball

time wise it’s even less time than basketball if u include all the stoppage in basketball

and who said that quote? These goals are miracles lol these guys are incredibly skilled

My beef with soccer is have a clock that stops and starts for fuks sake.

Hey, how much time is left in the game?

Idk....like 5ish to 10ish minutes
.
How is this a complaint when the last 5 minutes of a an nfl or nba game can be 5-20 mins depending on time outs, running out of bounds, fouls and other clock stopping bullshyt
