Saigon's album
This is what I came to post. Took too long to drop but I was still anticipating it. But ultimately, it let me down.
Saigon's album
Mos Def - The New Danger
shyt was such a letdown compared to the classic Black on Both Sides was. It has some gems but just extremely weak and unfocused compared to his debut.
Wow great take! Yeah I don't get how people were hating on that album. It's amazingTo Pimp A Butterfly is everything I thought The New Danger and Electric Circus would be.
Imo The B Coming is a classic.Nas - Streets Disciple - last Nas album I bought. Was a chore to get through. What annoyed me more was that there were loosies cut from the album on mixtapes that were better than the album cuts.
Beanie Mac - The B Coming - Don't get me wrong, I liked the album as a whole but the way it was talked up I was expecting a classic and it fell short.
Earl Sweatshirt/Alchemist - expected a classic. Got trash.
BP2
18th Letter(and I'm a HUGE rakim fan, but this was a 3 mic album at best)
The Love Movement
Tical
Don't flood the thread copping pleas about a flood.
The saving grace was that it was bundled with a best of Rakim bonus CD. I tossed the new album and bumped the bonus CD.18th Letter(and I'm a HUGE rakim fan, but this was a 3 mic album at best)
Busta Rhymes - Big Bang Theory. So much hype, Busta cut his hair, Dr. Dre overseeing the entire thing, and the album was basically a 6/10.
Damnnn word? Some of this album sounded like it was intended for someone other than Busta. "Break Ya Neck" sounded tailored to Busta's style, but songs like "Cocaina" and "Goldmine" sounded like what would've been on OB4CL 2 had it dropped in '06. "Don't Get Carried Away" could've easily been a Hip Hop Is Dead joint. The final song was meant for Rakim's unreleased Aftermath album. The opening song sounded like a Game joint.
