This is what I came to post. Took too long to drop but I was still anticipating it. But ultimately, it let me down.
Nas - Streets Disciple - last Nas album I bought. Was a chore to get through. What annoyed me more was that there were loosies cut from the album on mixtapes that were better than the album cuts.
Beanie Mac - The B Coming - Don't get me wrong, I liked the album as a whole but the way it was talked up I was expecting a classic and it fell short.
Earl Sweatshirt/Alchemist - expected a classic. Got trash.

Mos Def - The New Danger
shyt was such a letdown compared to the classic Black on Both Sides was. It has some gems but just extremely weak and unfocused compared to his debut.

I agree. I can't put my finger on exactly why but I just don’t love Tical. Plenty of bangers, it's just not a classic and it should've been.

IIRC, def jam rushed this and they recorded it while touring. Plus flood. Still no excuse.
Return to the 36 Chambers dropped about 4 months later and had noticably better production and much more of a Wu feel.
ODB's album is classic to me and easily better than tical.

Blueprint 3. After DOA I thought it was gonna be a phenomenal album, as his album cuts are much better than his singles usually. I was also excited for ESOM...man. I revisited it so many times and it just kept getting worse. Frisbee.

The saving grace was that it was bundled with a best of Rakim bonus CD. I tossed the new album and bumped the bonus CD.
