The irony is both of those states have more gun control by far than places like Alaska, Arizona, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Montana, Florida and the likes with looser controls.

If I'm correct, in Chicago, it's illegal to own automatic weapons and silencers. But dudes still have it. Why? partly due to the loose laws in those same states you've mentioned. Many guns shows allow you to buy as many guns as you want, any kind, as long as you have the cash. No accountability

Chicago is still more strict than the national standard. They can tighten those laws up but the thing is places with looser laws are seeing less crime. The Chicago model has not worked well.

The thing is most criminals are NOT going to gun shops. They are getting pieces off the street. When it comes to gun shows, if a person is clean in background checks, I say let them buy as many as they like.

toronto had somethin like 50 murders in 2012...chicago has 500...WHY?

lol Why? Because American culture is built off of violence... More so than any other modern western society... However... Gun control people don't like to bring up Chicago because Guns are BANNED in that city and people are still being murdered....

Paz, what are you arguing about? I said you're right. Logically, everything you're saying adds up and everything I'm saying doesn't/is false. I'm not reading your rants.

Get rid of guns in Chicago. Go around to all legal owners and collect them. I'm sure the crime rate will drop. That's the simple point right?

There are no "legal guns" in Chicago :pachaha:

You did the right thing tapping out to these guys... They still think witholding legal rights to a firearm from law abiding citizens is going to stop people criminals who obtain guns illegally :snoop:

:troll:ing right......I said the MSM....what is the MSM doing...and gun industry didn't shoot, a person did, who happend to be apparently autistic and on pills......and the batman dude was in some psychological program taking tons of pills too....

Knife companies don't cut people, people cut people......

The is MSM deflecting the conversation and demonizing one segment over another.......I ask again, when has Piers Morgan or any other MSM correspondent mentioned the pills he was taking....(more than likely that company is paying their salaries via commercials)............have you seen the Hollywood parody video of all the actors saying gun control, but then they all are holding and blasting away at things on film.....

DEMAND A PLAN: Hooray for Hollywood Hypocrisy (clean edit) - YouTube

That's my point, people come and say he's "crazy", but can't site anything he said that isn't backed up by validation in some book, article, document, or video.........what did he say that was completely false or without merit....even if he said it loudly and abrasively....he should have toned it down a bit, but the points were there...

Props on that video :weebay:

but if they are getting those guns in those loose law states, then doesn't that undermine the effectiveness of those strict Chicago gun laws?

If a friend with a clean background, could purchase all his guns. Then turn around and resell it to the scumbag street terrorist, then doesn't that undermine the effectiveness of those strict Chicago gun laws?

In those same places with loose guns laws, you also have more "brave" folks. Like the dude who shot that loud rap music playing dude in the gas station

Well, shuffling guns across state lines is a problem for stricter states trying to keep them out. But I'd wager more of the problem lies within the state of Illinois itself. Sure, Indiana may be a pipeline of sorts but the guns are already in Illinois. Unless you could ban transferring guns, the issue of gun transfer is impossible to stop. There aren't enough drones in the skies or cameras on posts to stop a person from giving something to a friend and vice versa. Guns from shows/stores can be traced to some degree. Guns originally in the streets (self-made, stolen, etc.) are the bigger problem. Many of these Chicago "cheap pieces" are hard to track.

There are "braver" people in more tolerate states. But what I find interesting is many "heroic" stories go untold. The tragedies are told and get front page coverage. A heroic story can be ignored or get a back page story and few talk of it. If I were a criminal, I would love the stricter states. And if things like the NY story of listing gun owners became widespread, I'd simply go to any house not on the list and have happy hunting/criminal activity time.

No easy answer for guns. But Chicago is probably an example of what not to do.

You clearly don't know how studies/stats working. So I won't argue that with you.

But if 2.5 million people are able to protect themselves EVERY YEAR, you ready to have them all dead/wounded because of 2 crazies. You're being idiotic. :pachaha:

Bias or not, it's cited.

I get that. But if the military and government employees can have them, American citizens should be able to do so as well.

Doesn't matter were illegal guns come from in relation to getting rid of legal guns. They aren't the ones that commit crimes.

That 2.5 million stat has been thoroughly disputed as totaly non-factual. It's from an old biased survey that called gun owners and asked them if they feel safe with their guns:rudy:

Where do the guns on the street come from?

All illegal guns were manufactured and sold in this country as legal weapons. Somewhere along the line a criminal got a hold of the gun and it just magicaly turns into a illegal gun:beli:

Why not try to prevent the guns from getting into the hands of criminals?
