Yeah I don't get the technology debate in here.

It's only an issue if you assume the "Alien" universe's technology advanced exactly the same as ours. And it clearly didn't. Apple, Google, Microsoft, etc. don't exist for them. The Weyland Corporation (along with Yutani, Borgia Industries, Jùtóu Combine, and various other fictional corporations) controlled the flow of information and technology in that universe.

The bulk of their resources went into terraforming, off-world colonization, robotics, etc. Their technology deviated from our own very early in that timeline.

The first David model was actually built in 2025.

Funny enough I just remembered that during the promo for Prometheus Verizon is presented as having worked with Weyland to create David

I'm not criticizing it for not having more advanced tech. I LIKE the show. It's just a gripe that I have with ALL futuristic sci-fi movies because its lazy writing. All because the story doesn't need it to be strong. The focus is the aliens. The could just do a better job showing what a futuristic earth would be outside of the ship and Androids. How are futuristic writers still getting out done by the Jetsons?

Like I said, my biggest concern is that they don't create a bunch of questions that they can't answer because between Wendy knowing how to speak xenomorph, octo-eyeball, and the parasites running wild on earth, they have a lot to explain before the original Alien comes into play.

This could end up being alternate universe/separate continuity.

They just can’t admit yet because it will alienate parts of the viewership.

If the show explodes in popularity after season 2 and they green light a season 3 & 4 they will probably say it then.

The creator already did this with the show Legion.

eyelian :damn:

No way that whole prodigy island chain doesn't get nuked at series end. The whole thing is already fukked with just those alien insects putting their spawn into water :damn:
