Funnily enough, I read somewhere that back in the olden days the term, “Uncle” was today’s equivalent of “father” because the average woman didn’t know who their child’s father was.
Men were vagabonds who literally, got their nut and dipped.
The child always knew who their mother was and that’s probably where, “mamas baby, daddy’s maybe,” comes from.
