It's an overrated sport that cacs,geeks and mexicans worship.Typical Nfl game is 3 and out,punt,fumble,tv timeout,challenge where they show 26 replays,a bunch of no gains,dropped passes,touchdown,commercial,punt,comercial with some bumbling ex player babbling in the booth final score either 31-27 or 13-6.Wash rinse repeat for 18-19 weeks

U think u joking, but i know mad dudes who got into a sport cuz they played the video game. I aint give a shyt bout basketball until 2k1 came out with A.I. on the cover (if my memory is correct.) Been hooked the sport since.

The best way to start is just to watch games and gain an understanding of what's going on. After a while, you'll be naturally attracted to the stories of certain teams and players.
There is no lebron, but there are a lot of legends like Manning, Brees, Brady that show how nasty QBs can dominate a game when they're in the zone. Then runningbacks like Charles, Forte, Peterson, can show you elite running backs.
Two words for WR: Calvin Johnson. Though the dude hyping Andre Johnson is correct, no one who gets injured more but still grabs 100+ catches a year and is so fukking surehanded.
Defenses: pay attention to how seattle, kansas city, and I wanna say St. Louis this year gon be nice.
Also play fantasy football or Madden (though I hate Madden)
