I don't agree with students fukking around on their phone in class.
I don't agree with students attacking teachers.
But here's where I break with most people, I don't think teachers should be taking phones.
A deck of cards, a comic book, some dice, a toy? Sure, take that.
A phone is different.
First off, as much bullshyt that goes on with phones, those phones have become the primary way students communicate with parents or can contact help quickly as needed; for example, if a mass shooting happens at the school.
These kids may also have bank account, credit or debit card information in their phones for themselves or their parents.
They have financial apps like Paypal, CashApp, etc.
Furthermore, more often than not, these kids have nude and sexually explicit pictures of themselves and other minors in that phone.
Even though I don't condone it, it's a fact of life. A lot of adults have nudes of themselves in their phones. I think that's a privacy issue.
Especially with all of the sick freak teachers out there.
Lastly, these phones are expensive and most likely, the parent purchased the phone.
When I was in school, the faculty used to jack the fukk out of us for our electronics.
I bought an nice set of headphones with my own money. After a "security sweep" I never saw my shyt again.
I couldn't even have my folks come get it because them mfs said they didn't have it.
You wouldn't take a student's motorcycle, car, or their house keys. I think the phone falls in that category.
If the student is fukking around on the phone in class, send them to the office and hit the parents up about it.
