I went from free lunch in elementry school to owning a house before 30, so they did alright
And now they make really good money and would give me whatever I asked for so
I'm still salty that I didn't get those guess Jean overall shorts, I needed them
Also my cousin's were living in the oakland and Richmond projects during 80s-90s crack era. I didn't have it that bad looking back

It's taboo to talk about it but damn, my parents ain't plan or nothing.
Everything I do I do without help which is fine but sucks some parents hooked their kids up.
The cold hard truth is if your parents didn't plan for you, you're pretty much fukked if you don't make it yourself.
I love my mom and dad but a lot of the shyt I'm going through now could've been avoided.

I won't exactly call it resentment but even some incremental changes would've gone a long way and it's not like those changes were outta my parent reach. Like you said, it's a taboo topic but I flat out think a lot of parents aren't good at it and don't know what the fukk they got themselves into but obviously can't turn back.
You have parents legit feeling pride in themselves since their kids lived to be 21 and above and didn't die of TB or some shyt. That's no fukkin excuse to not plan for them.
What's bugged out is that even the wackest parents can see how hard adulthood can be and STILL don't get a lil bullshyt savings acct set up or even rustle up some scholarship applications. You're on your own. And then on the flipside you have parents who toss $$ in their kids accounts, freely allow them to come back home to and just have enough infrastructure in place that the kids aren't constantly worrying about bullshyt, like SAVING THEIR PARENTS LOL

i love my parents, my moms is a sweetheart but she dont know what the fukk is going on in the real world...shes a hardworker, she very naive...but i did feel resentment for my dad...he didnt grind in his youth, all he did was fukk bytches and run the streets....and now i gotta put in extra work....like i have to do his and my work and sacrifice alot of fun..... ive missed out on alot, trying to escape this hole that im in.....but i forgave him and just do the work....a man gotta find his own way anyway

i can see why they say most ppl that grow up poor dont make it out...i got family in their late 20s thats stuck....hell it took alot of discipline, vision, patience for me to still be standing...i can understand how easy it is to get stuck from generation to generation in poverty
