If 25/hr is their cap, then you can make more driving for Uber. I'm making 28-30/hr(after Uber's cut) with Uber as a side hustle.

No your not, your not factoring gas, maintenance, and the money you have to sit on the side for your taxes.

Uber, left, Amazon flex, and those meal delivery services are scams. I feel sorry for people who brought cars thru ubers car buying program thinking they were gonna make decent money.

It's possible if you live in a decent area to make more with Uber

I live in a small college town so you can actually eat off Uber here. Now New York City, different story.

Hiring people with cars to deliver packages is hundreds of thousands of dollars cheaper than developing, building, and maintaining remote control delivery drones.
It's kind of a win-win. Amazon doesn't have to pay the cost of a car, your car maintenance (oil, tires, etc), gas or insurance, (much like Uber) in lieu of paying you good money. You could lose money, but if you don't have car payments, then you are making gravy.
The only thing I wouldn't like is delivering a package to shady neighborhoods. You use your smartphone to direct you to the address, but your eyes see another thing: blight, trash in the roads, abandoned cars on blocks and no doors, left over police tape from a homicide scene, bullet holes, etc. Dudes hanging out with nothing else to do but waiting to rob you.

How are they going to rob you if they already payed for the package online in the first place?

This is a good idea in any major city. Lasership has been stepping up their game but imagine if you could get your package at a specific hourly window and have a direct contact with your delivery guy. I'd be willing to pay extra for that in certain circumstances for important packages.

I know its possible but it's totally not in your favor as a driver. Some cat in San Fran said he put in 80 hour work weeks with uber to make the advertised $100K income as a driver.

Theirs been a couple statistics ran that show uber/lyft drivers make $11 to $13 on average. That cool if your car using isn't your main mode of transportation and it's paid off but that's not the case for the over whelming majority of these drivers.

Amazon already has Prime Now which offers two hour delivery and one hour for an extra fee

you can even order takeout from it, just not available everywhere

Thats not how you do it though....

Basically get a car w low payment. Mine is $190 for a 2013. I would have had this car and insurance regardless. Make enough to pay for car, insurance and gas in 1 week.

So a free car and extras other 3 weeks..

Wifey wants me to do more Uber honestly cuz I slowed down since Christmas (and I want a 2nd car) besides the Uber car

You still have to factor gas, maintenance, and your taxes. The wear and tear on your car is not worth it if it's your main mode of transportation.

I did my 1099 on my income last year, me and my wife file jointly and we already over 150k combined. Taxes from uber and shipt (her side gig) were not even noticed, cuz our day careers are solid already.

I work from home. Trust me, gas when ubering is paid for from tips. Maintenance is what oil changes? If the car ever has any major issue, im trading it in and repeating the procedure.

As long as it aint your daily whip you running up mileage in. You good.

Gas for a weekend doing uber is 1 fillup.

Even if you did this shyt 40-50 hours a week full time, you would win.

The only people losing is the ones who fail at math, and don't have entrepreneur business sense. The ones who drive around all day chasing surge, dont understand how to manipulate the surge to work for them. Who drive between pickups and not sit and wait. (And now Uber offers chain pickups, so wait time is down)

Wish I could switch my work at home job hours to get more uber in. I really like driving around, listening to music and getting paid.

Only thing I see better is Amazon flex cuz then no people, just packages.

We're moving to an economy where a few major huge companies will do everything and hire contract workers (not full timers) to deliver services. :sadcam:
Uber and Airbnb are examples of service based companies where most of the liability and resources are put on the person contracting their services out. Because of this both of those companies have been able to expand globally exponentially over the last couple of years because they use YOUR existing assets (car/home) and don't owe you shyt in the way of benefits or severance. :francis:
Crazy thing is job prospects are so poor right now for many americans that they have no choice but to get hype over the prospect of making $20 a hour on short term contracts with companies like amazon. This + more robotics/automation will have shyt spooky in about another 20 yrs.
Learn to invest and go to school for something useful:yeshrug:.
