Yeah but his sales pitch was all about independence. And the freestyle about black people not supporting tidal is just embarrasingly corny now.
Using racial guilt or whatever is always wack, we as anyone else want to maximize the value we get per buck. If the quality between "the white" and "the black" is the same, then I'd go with the black.

Anyways is Jay not supposed to sell a company that lost a battle and is losing money due to Mike Others and 14 other dudes on the internet not approving? :jbhmm:

All of the streaming services as losing money, this is a long term investment. And I don't know if Tidal has the money bags to ride out the storm. Apple is a good company to sell to, their payout is about the same as Tidal, in the future I think artists will choose between Apple and Spotify which will put pressure on their payout.

Deal wont work unless Apple lets Tidal Artists keep their percentages..
That was the whole reason why they went to Tidal

no matter what

to see a rap dude who came from the ground up get this far is really inspirational

the transition is just :wow:

being 25+ years old rapping and now making huge business moves at 40+

thats the ultimate growth

thats what past rappers before him should of been doing

:whew:

Is it a cutting ya losses deal, or is it a coming up deal? That's still up in the air.

If he is selling cause he losing money then fair enough. If he is selling for a profit after promises made not just about black business, but independence then that is a betrayal. And anyone that calls him a conman will have a lot of evidence.

So its 2 points, cutting his losses fair enough I have no beef.

Selling just for the sake of a quick profit then yeah I have a problem.
He's not cutting his losses, he's cutting Tidal's losses, but making a profit for himself.
Like Twitter has not made any money yet, but people think that it will. Therefore it can still sell for billions. If your are extremely uncertain about when you will start making money while another company thinks that with their platform it can start making money directly. A sale is a good thing.

They tried to compete, didn't really make it as far as they would like, so instead they're cashing out. That's how I see it.

This is not as if anyone is tied to Tidal, people pay 10 bucks per month to any service and can change when they want. So if he sells it, they can close their accounts or change to whatever they want. The company did what they promised as long as they existed, which was pay out a lot more than Spotify and give artists the control. (given that this deal is closed).

far from cutting ya losses , i mean jay has a great niche

the fact that he is an elite respected artist means he can maneuver as good as companies like apple etc

tidal has a great backbone that includes roc nation artists/management /roc nation sports etc

if talks are true, I think jay will keep tidal....

this year has been great for the company, it will only get better

It's not a merger but a buyout. If it were true. A buyout is buying all the equity and its split according to their percentages.

As a businessman, after that little freestyle and knowing there's been no rounds of investors as of yet to stay afloat, I'd just watch em drown rather than throw them a lifeboat.

Sprint didn't invest but gave their support. :stopitslime:

Don't want to piss off the makers of the #1 selling phone.

Sprint Denies Investment In Jay Z's Tidal As Aspiro Delists From Nasdaq Stockholm

Samsung deal fell through. I don't know why.

Probably pissed on those MCHG and Rihanna album deals.

The cat on bloomberg news said tidal was struggling and that apples interest was a blow to jimmy iovine because it proved he couldn't lure away the biggest artist becausemof their loyalty to jay. So this is either a loss for tidal or a loss for apple. Which spin do u believe?
