Are black people against learning trades?

I work directly with electricians and ammonia refrigeration. I don't have a certificate for either but I manage the programs for it. There is definitely a need for professionals in that area. Especially the refrigeration portion of it. We have trouble finding qualified people all the time. Especially on the refrigeration side of things. Electricians make a little more money but are easier to find then refrigeration techs.

It's seven months with an additional option for extra an seven months. The extra seven months is basically advanced HVAC residental & commerical courses.

Depends on your area.

In mines it was mostly people in their 30s with a few younger people in their 20s mixed in.

When I went to my orientation it was dudes around my age, I'm 21 but I also saw quite a few older dudes like 30-45.

A mechanic is also a good trade. It pays well especially if you have your license.

Then you probably have an apprenticeship which are usually 5 years. I'm going to a trade school which most of the time only run for like 6 to 7 months then afterwards I'll get a job in the union or an opportunity at an apprenticeship.

I have a cousin who is a welder in texas. Makes GREAT money, owns his own home at 26 has 2 nice cars paid off no debt etc. Hes tried to put people on but they all be like "nah I'm good"

I believe that. I've heard "I'm good" or "I already got a job " fast forward 5 yrs later, most of the same dudes are still in the same position they were at the same dead end job

Pro athlete, rapper, doctor, lawyer, engineer. Those things get the panties wet.

Most nikkas aren't trying to put in the work to be doctor, lawyer or engineer.

So, everyone tries to hoop or rap.

We need more Black people in the trades. We could corner the market the way Indians have in medicine, engineering, etc.

Most young black people I know lack the knowledge about the trade scene because its seen as "old school work."

Where Im at in the south its mostly people from the West Indes, mexicans and rednecks who do trades.

So I wouldn't say they are against, its just not on their radar based on what Ive seen.

So yes, the black youth are intentionally kept from seeing themselves as certain things. This is why the media is constantly pushing certain images of blacks down our throat.
