Are people asking for too much now? I'm sorry but a $15 minimum wage is still too low...

It’s crazy to me watching from the outside hearing so many people parroting corporatist rubbish so strongly.

minimum wage isn’t meant for a luxurious life, but fukk you should at least be able to get by every month and pay for your necessities. Second jobs should be about getting ahead, not making ends meet. Every other developed country works off this notion, but America has been force fed propaganda about certain jobs not being for living...what? This isn’t the 80s anymore, fast food jobs for example aren’t just for high school kids.

Breh higher education is easy to get to. Everything is online now, you can take classes at will anytime. And it's free:blessed: You can take Certs online too:obama:. I was working full time and taking classes full time

You took 15 credits in a semester and you worked 40 hours a week?

:patrice:

And you actually passed these classes?

Supply and demand. The easier it is to replace someone, the lower the salary

nikkas can't even get your order right at the restaurant and want more money. :camby:

They getting paid $7 something they could give a fukk about your order.

Everybody praises Chick-fil-A service but they start off more than any other fast food joint so the employees put in more effort.

Its like my new job. We get paid well and dont have management breathing down our necks so folks show up to work on time everyday in a good mood ready to work.

Very few people are trying to break their backs for customers who don't even think they deserve a living wage.

Yup. I was working in the morning and going after work. Some classes was 1 day a week, others were 2 days a week. 12-15 credits ain't hard, it's only 3 to 4 classes

Best thing about college is you can set your own schedule or do classwork online, I know that helps the unfortunate who don't have the luxury of time.

Edit: My degree wasn't that hard so I had it a lil easy. Community Colleges are nice for lower income though. Lots of 2 year degrees bring in good income.

UBI + 15, honestly when you consider what it SHOULD be if scales were to be properly balanced.

Actual jobs that benefit the community at large, and rent controls too while we're at it to keep slum lords from upping the rent to get a bigger cut of that 'free' money. As you can see with the pandemic, being busy for the sake of being busy like this was ever a real meritocracy is going to drive us off a cliff.

Dudes really been brainwashed into believing otherwise its crazy. America built the greatest economy in the world using the bolded as a premise but brehs on here will keep shouting about bootstraps and trickle down economics.

TLR is bootstraps central.

People have No smoke against the CEOs that underpay skilled and unskilled employees.

How about....Both??

Lower the cost of living and raise wages. Stop letting real estate eat up all economic gains that the working class have.

feel u .. but the base(cost of living) needs to leveled before we decide what minimum wage is.
