Are we gonna pretend Drake hasn't surpassed every single rapper on "Forever"

yeah. and millions went on to bite that flow. A trend obviously started by Drizzy (no one cared when Big Sean was doing it).

So you admit Big Sean was doing that style first.... But Drake STARTED it because Big Sean wasn't as popular? :snoop:

Your really starting to sound the rest of these Drake stans bruh, now that Views is trash you going back to songs that like 6-7 years old to try prove what?

This was a serious banger to you?

That song was forgettable and corny looking back....

Swagger like Us > Forever

Exactly. Why play dumb? It's not like that scenario is so rare in hip hop.

Sean may have started the supa dupa style (which really.... Superb did briefly on Supreme Clientele so I can't even credit Sean with that shyt) but sure... Sean's the first to base his entire style around it.

AND NO ONE GAVE A fukk till Drake did it. Because Drake has more charisma and executed it better.

You're so busy being angry you think I'm praising the track "Forever" :bryan: It's so funny how easily y'all get in your feelings and become illiterate.

I don't give a fukk about Forever. shyt was :trash: then and it's :trash: now.

I'm just saying: when you look at what Drake has accomplished SINCE THEN, in the totality of his work compared to the totality of the other rappers work, Drake has a better discog. SIMPLE

While this is true, it doesn't really apply in this case.

My brother is not young. That's the point. We're not talking about an 18 year old. We're talking about someone who's damn near 30 who grew up as Ye dropped these supposed 'classics' and now doesn't give a fukk about them, while still being a rap fan.

That would be like me not giving a fukk about any DMX album/song even though I was in high school when X DOMINATED. If something hasn't endured, it's not a classic. Plain and simple.

I think using your brother as the basis of your thesis is a big problem with this thread. A 30 year old man who walks around quoting Drake lyrics all day is not the norm. That sounds like an anomaly.

You'll notice I never mentioned those songs.

Those shyts were pop/casual hip hop. hot today, gone tomorrow. Though I think "Miss Me" is still a decent song. Is it a career-defining Drake song? :russ: Hell to the no.

That's the point. If Drake's career is what you say it is then these should be timeless classics that people will be flipping through a decade after they are released, like people still do with Kanye songs (All falls down, Jesus Walks, Gold Digger, Touch the Sky, Can't Tell Me Nothing, Good Life, Flashing Lights, Power, etc., just to name a few from the early part of Ye's career)

Successful ones. Do you know anyone in the business world? What kind of people do you think love Drake?

I don't have a sales breakdown on his fanbase but my guess would be near-middle aged businessmen and women are not his key demographic.

im a fan of drake and this is the worst verse he has ever done
im a fan of 1da and this is my least favorite beat he's ever made
i don't care about eminem but his verse was cringeworthy

i unfortunately used to have to drive for my job at the time this song came out and was in some old shytty dept of transportation car that had nothing more than a radio. hot97 would be playing this song every hour, no joke. im so glad i haven't heard this overrated, corny, uninspired blatant cash grab of a rap song in years. this thread made me remember this shytty song and i had to neg the OP because of it (and because he's a clown).

this is a song tailor made for basic rap fan stanboys like sirbiatch.

It has:

a boring ass ass 'epic soundtrack' style beat with those horns...check

blatant cash grab guest features from who was supposed to be the hottest at the time (a lyor cohen'esque "lets put them all on the same track. it HAS to be hot") ...check
hashtag punchlines that would make stanboys like sirbiatch go :ohhh:...check

"WOW EM IS REALLY DOING A SONG W THESE GUYS?!??" suprise factor like we were supposed to forget em was already WASHED at the time...check

I can only imagine sir biatch's face when he heard that "balled... CHEMO" punchline like :ohhh::ohhh:

simple ass mark.

sirbiatch was it this song that made you go out and buy your first pair of OVO pajamas to wear to bed every night? Then you traded them in a couple years after for those ASAP MOB pajamas you're wearing right now didn't you.

OP you've been negged :pacspit:

Right.... :rudy:

You mean kinda like when cats used to (and still kinda) quote Hov all the time, especially as he was the biggest rapper in the game. Business dudes. But I'll let y'all chef

I'd argue that heads don't give a fukk about any of those songs, with maybe the exception of Can't Tell Me Nothing, which was Kanye's first and probably only 'street' hit.

Gold Digger? All Falls Down, etc? Are you fukking serious? Those are pop records. Vibe-killers for a hip hop audience.

0 to 100 demolishes all those songs by the way, and actually goes harder. Even G-Unit jumped on that shyt.

I don't have a sales breakdown on his fanbase but my guess would be near-middle aged businessmen and women are not his key demographic.

angry juelz

It's funny how you idiots stay rambling about the song Forever, even though that's not the core of my argument. This would be obvious if you had basic comprehension and didn't shoot from the hip.

As I've said already, I don't give a fukk about the quality of the song Forever. I'm talking about the meaning of the moment "Forever" and how Drake has performed since then.

Stupid fukking posters :snoop:

stay rambling about the song forever? You used that song as a basis for the whole entire topic, right inside the thread title :francis:

On top of that, half of your post is dedicated to how he washed everyone on the song, and how much of a metaphor it was for things to come. you're the one who brought up the song in the first place :upsetfavre:

The other parts of your post, regarding discography and re-play factor of drakes recent singles - mind you which had nothing to do with the TITLE or original topic of your thread - I actually agree with you o (some what) :smugfavre:

but because you're a pajama wearer and you talk in circles I had to neg you out of principle

sidebar: how many drake posters do you have on the wall in your bedroom?

and LOL at your argument about 0-100
"G UNIT EVEN HOPPED ON IT :ohhh:" lmaooo come on man

It's not the basis of the entire topic.

The entire topic is discog vs discog. and I'm trying to anchor this in a historical moment but y'all are too shook/dumb.

Even back then it was obvious that Drake was making a statement that he was the leader of the new school and was gonna take hip hop on his back. And I'm saying SINCE THEN, he has surpassed the rappers involved on that song.

It's called having an interesting post with a bit of backstory.

What do you bum ass posters expect? Title= "Do you like Drizzy or Kanye? yes or no?" with first post "I like Kanye better." end of post.

cmon. I'm not a simple simon ass nikka

and LOL at your argument about 0-100
"G UNIT EVEN HOPPED ON IT :ohhh:" lmaooo come on man

I deleted the rest of your juelz where you agreed with me, and acting like G-Unit hopping on 0 to 100 wasn't a big deal :mjlol:

Y'all really don't pay attention to this hip hop shyt, do you? No wonder SirBiatch has to spell everything out in crayon for y'all.

So you wanna play it off like Drake is catering to the same demographic that Jay-Z was? :martin:

If we're talking real heads then the fact is neither one of these guys are really on the radar like that. Let's be honest with ourselves. Real heads ain't bumping Drake shyt.

All I know is when any of those songs I mentioned come on in any arena, club, sporting event or other venue across the country (and countless other songs.. Mercy/Clique/Cold/nikkas in Paris to name a few) come on, EVERYONE knows them, vibes to them and can probably sing them word for word. This catalogue has stood the test of time. Drake shyt is here today and forgotten tomorrow until his next shyt drops.

I beg to differ. if real heads weren't bumping ANY Drake, Drake wouldn't be running rap right now.

Are heads bumping Drake albums? I doubt it. There's no single Drake album I listen to, and Drake's always been a hit chaser anyway. But does he have singles that heads really like? Definitely. Pretending otherwise is disingenuous.

Those aren't Kanye solo songs.

Notice I've been keeping this solely on solo material

Till next time....
