You did not even accurately identify LeBron's prime. He averaged 30/8/7/2/1 in '06. You're including his 12th season as a part of his "prime" --

How do threads like this get made?

The Bulls team Bird played in the '86 & '87 PS were not elite defensively nor were they remotely close to the powerhouses they'd later become. Your big three Celtics in '08 were better defensively than those Pistons.

Winning championships is a team accomplishment, not individual. LBJ would have as many if not more titles with better support in the past two seasons.

You're delusional if you think he hasn't proven himself

Nobody is denying Lebron's accomplishments. They just aren't as good as Bird's.

Pippen wasn't a better defender than Andre Iguodala?

Pippen wasn't a better defender than Paul Pierce?

Now you're throwing things against the wall hoping they stick.Pippen wasn't on EITHER of those bulls teams that faced bird in the playoffs

And bird use to bust pippens ass when he was old :pachaha: what are you talking about

2010-2015 was his prime as far as winning is concerned. And he also brought his skill-set as close as full circle as possible by the time he joined the Heat.

Bron on the Cavs until 2010 was putting up numbers for sure but he wasn't as well-rounded a player as he was when he joined Wade and Bosh.

I give the nod to Lebron for longevity ...and assumed longevity since he appears fukking indestructible. ..if bron were to not win a ring this year and retire after the season I'd probably lean toward bird

...aaand they beat:

the Lakers with prime Magic and Worthy, and McAdoo, Wilkes, and Kareem
the Pistons with prime Isaiah, Dumars, and young Rodman
the Bulls with prime Jordan and Scottie
the Rockets with prime Moses Malone and Calvin Murphy
the Rockets later with prime Hakeem and Ralph Sampson

so why you actin' like there were no other stacked teams during that era?
That's not his fault, they just beat who played 'em...
Lol Michael Jordan was definitely not in his prime in 86 and 87 when they met in they playoffs. Pippen was a rookie coming off the bench in 87. Jordan was coming back from a broken foot in 86 :mjlol: everything else you said was correct

Larry was a great player but I got Lebron. We can argue that Bird was a bettet clutch player. But Lebron is a far better defensive player than Bird was vs Bird being a far better clutch player than Lebron.

Let's not forget that Bird was the weakest defender out of those starting line ups. McHale always guarded the better out of the two Forwards.

McHale was the one that guarded worthy in those finals not Bird. Mchale was also the one that guarded Wilkins in that great playoff series.

It's been 5 years almost and I still can't believe he lost that 2011 Final. I don't really care about the question because this isn't fukkin tennis or boxing, its a team sport and I hate singling out 1 player in teams as if it matters. But back to losing that final :snoop: right then and there I knew Lebron wouldn't be a true elite. He will finish with 2 rings and pretty much be remembered like Hakeem, just a tier below a true great. Still he is a very good player though.

Lol.

His prime is definitely 2009 up until 2014, using 2015 just because he went to the Finals is dumb. Purposely trying to downgrade his numbers.....
