The story of Jesus is one of the most analyzed stories in the history of the world. It has either positively and negatively impacted every person who has heard it. Many disagree with what happen and what will happen. Even withing the Christian church there isn't a agreeable point of view of what happens between the time periods and events listed in Revelation. There have been attempts from both inside and outside the church to add and/or subtract from the Scriptures, as early as the 2nd Century AD.

Most people know is a prophetic book with signs and numbers that don't make sense the first time you read it.The progression of the Holy Spirit has lead to a clearer understanding of what John wrote when he was at on the island of Patmos. There are 7 churches listed in the 2nd and 3rd chapters of revelation describing how they operate and behave. Prophetically this represents time periods of the last days of earth. The last church, Laodicea, is currently the time period we are living. There's nothing to be added to the Bible because I believe it captures the fullness of earth's history from the beginning to the end. We are in the last stages of earth's history. The canon has been closed for over 1600 years, there won't be any more books added. That does not mean God will not inspire people to write and share the gospel, He has and He will.

The Early Church was known for spreading the Gospel far and wide. The Scriptures to anyone to have and to own. The followers spread a message that caught the Roman Empire off guard. The ministry that very localized became a political and religious giant. It became the leader power of most of Europe up until 1798, when the Pope was removed from his seat and the has never been the same. Within the Catholic church, traditions began to have the same status as Scripture. I believe that the Bible is the Word of God. I also believe that the Bible is too complex for me to absolutely state it's all literal or all metaphorical. Lastly I believe we can not place our faith in the authors themselves, for they were man just as I am. They had their faults like all of us. It's one of the reasons why the Bible was written because it is relatable to anyone and everyone. The men who wrote point time and time again not to look to humans, objects, or to the intangibles like wealth and power, but to God for the source of their strength. That's good enough for me.

Many of you know that slave owners used the Bible to capture and keep people enslaved anywhere Europeans colonies were settled. They would Scriptures such as Ephesians 6: 5 - 8 to control those under them with a iron fist. There are many both inside and outside the church who could not understand why Moses and the apostle Paul supported slavery. This has left a bad taste in the mouth of people who don't share the same views as Christians.

This one was a touchy subject that I had to really research. I claim that I don't have all the answers but I'll try my best to answer. Slavery is a theme repeated all over Scripture. Sin is compared to slavery and Jesus said He came to set the captives free. Like the Jews in the NT who expected a conquering Messiah, the image of what we have setting captives free is different from what Jesus had in mind. He was talking about spiritual slavery. God never supported slavery but He allowed it within circumstances. They were to be treated well and if you even killed one, you were put to death. God had high standards for His people. Based on the reading of the Exodus and the Journey in the Wilderness, God constantly reminded them that they were slaves and they should never wish to go back to there lives in Egypt. I believe God knew that there would be a power shift within people and those on the bottom would be taken advantage of. He set it stone guidelines for how to treat others with love and respect. I do believe that God has worked to send reformers to help free His children everywhere throughout the ages and will one day fully abolish all slavery in any shape or form.

I'm a selfish person, I can attest to that. I'm a stubborn who does not want to do anything for anyone. There are many times I feel I deserve some unconditional praise for the things I've done. Then I remember what price Jesus paid for me and how without I'll be lost. I love to serve God and people, it's something in me to help others in need and praise God for what He's done, doing, and will do. I believe Jesus set the best example on how to live. He never made His ministry about Himself always pointing to His Father and serving others. I've come to the conclusion I don't need make myself a god to advance in life. I know God loves me and wants the best for me. He blesses me unconditionally. I also know that there are people, even with their faults, who are reliable and have the best interest in heart for me. If I put God first, I no longer think how can I better myself but what can I do to make myself person for Jesus, raising the standards of living. It's the same with other, what can I do to help, not want they could do for me. When I focus on self, I can make far but far enough.

I don't even know how you'd keep things like insects on the ship and avoid accidentally killing them or letting some of them escape. Even if you narrow it down to just mammals, that's still over 5,000 species, some of which are quite huge. How exactly would Noah fit all of these animals/mammals on a boat that was 300 cubits long? Additionally, how would he manage to keep food on the ark for them (so they don't starve) and prevent them from messing up the ship?
Also, just one male and one female of a species should be too little genetic diversity for the animals to repopulate.

Having questions about the Bible and using common sense doesn't make you a bad Christian. If you looked at the bible and believed every word literally, you'd be the heir to the throne to the kingdom of morons. As long as you have faith, that's all that matters. I'd say don't worry so much about the words written by man, and focus on your relationship with God.

Judas has a negative view attached to his story. He's the Bible's Benedict Arnold, a traitor for money. Judas is believed the most educated of the 12 disciples. As before in this thread, the Bible as we know was finalize until the 4th Century. After that it was locked away from the common people. Protestant Reformers lead too the publishing of Bibles in the many tongues found in Europe. They removed the Apocrypha because they felt it was not sound to be included was never mention by OT or NT writers. Later churches such as the Jehovah's Witness and LDS added to the Bible what they deem as right. Also with the aid of archaeology, more older manuscripts are being found. These new manuscripts do not take away from the message of the Bible but more how to arrange it and how to better translate ancient Hebrew and Greek to modern languages. It's one of the reasons why there are so many new versions of the Bible in English.

The Protestant Churches, even with there differences, have all agreed the 66 Books in the Bible is enough. Newer Denominations and even non-denominational Christians have poked around the Bible for their liking. I believe that God has closed His canon many years and with the help of technology has lead to the discovery of better manuscripts to give us an even picture of the story of the Bible.

This is a divided throughout history. Most people argue about if there's a god, if there is many who to follow, and is there a true god. Humans only have always observe creation, destruction, and reconstruction.
