Technically, it makes all the sense in the world. Thst being said, i would expect us to be further along whatever timeline Quinn wants to be on. Patricia is new, Quinn is not and Patricia, i assume shares the same vision as Quinn. I'm demanding more synergy between coach and front office. This time frame is possibly, potentially, the best five year window the lions will ever have. Stafford is as good or better than 3 of the 4 quarterbacks in the conference championship game. We need better line play on both sides and a run game.
I said this a long time ago, he kept Caldwell until the cap space cleared up........ Drafted all positions that take 2 years to develop last year and now his boy comes in with cap space and an offense that's pretty much set.
Quinn just playing chess out here and bought himself some more years by tying his contract to his coaches.

This would be complete bullshyt. Why the fukk would we get rid of a 24 year old Abdullah to pay a premium for a 27 year old Lewis that has an ACL history, same size as Ameer and is half as explosive. If we arent going all the way up to spend for Bell, dont pay for a vet RB, draft them and exploit their rookie deal like good teams do. Caldwell has a long history of trash run games and Cooter like whamming Abdullah right into the middle of the line on predictable run downs. Everything that made him a 2nd round pick is still there for a good coaching staff to utilize. Spend the money on the fukking pass rush

Lewis would be an upgrade at the position but I’d rather do as you suggest and bring in a fresh back.

Very excited. A proper o-line scheme and coach could make this team elite offensively. We already know Stafford plays lights out through play action, now imagine if we have an actual run threat...
I agree the DC hire is wack but ultimately this will be Patricia's defense. I think Patricia just bringing in a mentor with HC experience to help him, and then next year he'll bring in a younger/better DC.
