:francis: No point since you bought the car and convinced yourself it is a solid purchase.

You told me I could find a newish RX 450H for $12,000. You lied. I wanna see the receipts. :stopitslime:

You also claimed Lexus is not reliable and has expensive maintenance costs. (Which is false) Then I asked what car you drive. You still haven't answered. :ohhh:

Seems like you tried to fit MY expenses under YOUR budget and now you feel some type of way. :dame:

They give problems?

Not really but they are engineered so complex and less people drive them compared to japanese so say 6-7 yrs down the line when you need to get a repair done the costs will still be that of a car that was 30-50k. Its idiotic imo to pay 1k+ for repairs on things that isnt something like a tranny or something. Imo if you want to buy a car go japanese or american if you want german than lease it UNLESS you do your own work om cars

I never said Lexus is not reliable but I did say maintenance costs are expensive which is true.:francis:

Take that 400-500 car payment, put it in a Roth IRA, 25-30 years later you got easily over a million that's tax and penalty free.

Wanna look like a baller though:scust:
You can't drive a Roth IRA though

And if your credit is good it's not too difficult to find places that will give you a killer interest rate these days. My car loans are like $150/mo a piece @2.5% or some shyt. Meanwhile there are conservative blue chip stocks returning 8, 9, 12% on nothing but dividends :yeshrug: I will gladly pay a 2.5% penalty to net 6-8%

And buying a new car is a stupid financial move period. That depreciation will kill you. If you can get a used car and an extended factory warranty you should be good. Average age of cars on the road in the US is like 11 years. You get a 5-7 year old Honda or Toyota or something you should be able to get like 4-5 years out of that bytch no problem. shyt my wife's car is an 11 year old VW and we haven't had any big issues over the last 3 years we owned it :yeshrug:

The thought of blowing cash on a depreciating asset that gives no more functionality than a cheap used one makes me shudder. We just spent $12K replacing the central A/C in our house..... having cash on hand instead of tied up in bullshyt like cars is GOD in America

I'm thinking about buying a used Audi... Anyone knows about if they're good or not?

Don't do it. You'll constantly be in the shop getting repairs. My mom had a quattro in the 2000s (think it was a 2005) and i dropping her off at the dealership was a bimonthly thing. Not even talking maintenance either. Very pretty cars to look at though

Lexus cars are notorious for expensive repair costs and maintenance.
No they aren't. Lexuses are Toyotas. They are bulletproof. Literally the only things that might cost a little more are brakes, tires and headlight bulbs. Everything else is literally identical. I'd "gamble" on a Lexus before something like a Ford or Hyundai.

Most people can't afford the cars they are financing. The average price of a new car is about 31-32k. A study shows that the average American can only afford a 17k car. Goods and services outpacing wages as normal. Nothing to see here.

I found out the hard way. Bought a brand new jeep cherokee straight outta school for about 25k but was paying $400 a month for it. I was making 60k a year then and that car payment kinda put a dent in my budget after rent and school loans.

I stay driving slightly used hinda civics these days and I keep the loans under $10k so I can keep the monthly payments at or below $150

Mt parents were all about Volkswagen and audi growing up so I do remember when those cars were actually good. Then about 2000 they just stopped giving a shyt about making reliable cars :wow:
