i can see myself getting married...just cause i believe in unconditional love..
marriage is about looking beyond the superficial...like another poster said...commitment...compromise....courage...that's unconditional love
and alot of people don't value unconditional love....because we( mankind) naturally gravitate toward conditional love...
what is often encouraged more....starting a genuine friendship with a man or woman...or starting a possessive relationship with each other right off the bat...?
i mean...everything is connected....there isn't any wonder why marriage is looked at unfavorably... you have to value an actual friendship with a man or a woman.. you have to have an affinity for a woman or man as an individual....that is the foundation of marriage..
and if you look at each other in a superficial light...of course it's not going to correlate...it's not going to work...

I have been lucky enough to be able to support myself and grind through life's challenging moments for the better part of 12+ years.... Doing the ish alone with no companion to confide in and copilot sucks major balls...
As much as I would love going through the ups and downs of life with a trusted partner and adviser ....let's just say I've given up.....

I feel I have gotten to old to make those kinds of adjustments to my life. Even in my early thirties, that comes across as too major a shift in things. I'm stuck in my ways. Who's to say that won't change up? But right now it's....

She wound up throwing me in the bushes, so I doubt I'm gonna get married barring a miracle. shyt isn't worth the headache or the heartache these days.
Pickings is slim for Black men that only date Black women, our sisters are so destroyed. Looking for a Black woman that woman that is racially aware and has knowledge of self is like looking for a needle in a haystack in a yellow convention on the sun. I refuse to have kids with a dumb bytch nevermind marry one.

I dont want to be alone of course, but I also dont want to be alone in a relationship. I also know that I may get attached to other women while married. Will go for it when I meet a woman I can see myself being with for longer than a month.
If I can find a chick that meets the ten commandments of reinscarf then maybe I'd consider it .

My folks have been married for 30+ years. That doesn't happen anymore...like you said.
I think my generation is just messed up and really that type of companionship and those type of values don't exist anymore.

I say that cause I've had moments where I was thinking that...just all in myself just down and noticed women checking me out and seeing the looks of disappointment/sadness when I didn't reciprocate any of their signals/advances/whatever when they saw I didn't want to talk to them or ignored them.
I'm kind of a cold person...I've been working on not trying to be that way...but I've been through a lot of bullshyt that made me put my guard up when it comes to people. I feel like just at 30...I'm putting it down.
