Kind of like this call on Vol 2. I probably would put Reasonable Doubt over it- and I understand people feeling The Blueprint and TBA as albums more- but as far as pure mic presence, Jay was in a zone on Vol 2. His flow and voice on it had no corniness, it was just dominant.

I remember when RD came out that was Nas summer. Everyone was bumpin IWW. RD got hype over the years but it didn't have the impact vol 2 did. If I was going on a road trip I would still put vol 2 in over RD. Not saying sales mean everything but vol 2 was his selling album. There's a reason for that.

This album is ok. It's better than BP3 and KC easily. It's cool that he rocking over different style beats, but it sounds kinda like an Azalea Banks joint, for real. I don't wanna see nann of y'all calling this classic turn around and shyt on Azalea Banks, it's basically the same shyt

Personally, don't like it. The beats? Could be 10 years old. Only a few jump out at me. Rhymes? For a Jay album, weak to me. The album kinda drags too. By song 10, he's used all the ideas he has.

2/5 so far but it's early days.

I literally don't like anything on it that much.

SINY!!
Every Jay-Z album usually sounds good from the jump. Whenever he puts something out, there is a great deal of anticipation and he has a good ear for tracks so those first play throughs of a Jay-Z album are :gladbron:

Some have had better replay value then others......So far this is holding up....but time will tell. BP2 & 3, KC, and Vol 3 didnt have any replay value for me....

Honest opinion, no bullshyt?

shyt is heat. Hov was rappin his ass off and he sounds as confident as ever.

And you gotta remember, dude is the same age as the "golden era" emcees (Ra, Kane, LL) and yet he's still stuntin on damn near er'body that's relevant right now.

He delivered a solid, solid real hip hop album.

Can't believe we're listening to the same album. Take the exact same production and lyrics and put J.Cole's name on the Album cover instead of Jay-Z and these ratings go down 95%. It's like nikkas convincing themselves that the new Jordans look nice just because the retro's were nice.
Stop being so insecure. If cats ran in here telling you that you're convincing yourself not to like it you'd argue them down. Fall your low self esteem having ass back.

I loved 2 songs, liked 2 more and will never listen to any of the other ones ever again..

The lyrics were average and the content was predictable but thats to be expected coming from a 44 year old rich guy... If we grade him on a curve of what he really is at this point and not what he once was then the project is hard to be a disappointment..

He's just become the least interesting guy in pop music to me at this point... Most of the entertainment comes from the reactions of his fans and critics...

My honest opinion is 2.5/5

His flow, delivery and lyrics have declined and his subject matter throughout had me bored by the end.

Some great production though, bangs in the whip.

Its dope. Jay came correct, the production is on some other shyt(:whew:), I'd give it 8-8.5/10.

I'm still playing his little brother's album more though. It might be weird but it stays interesting. Go figure. :mjpls:
