Scroll up I did breh.
Everyone my break is almost over. I will continue after work 6:30pm est

You want to sample Very Special?:dahell:

No wonder why you're struggling. Pick something you hear a clear loop in. Don't pick a popular song and try to force a beat out of it. Find something that doesn't have too many sounds with drums and vocals on top.

& this is exactly why Quincy Jones doesn't like rap producers lol :dead:

Tell Quincy Jones to start making beats and get back to us. What he does and what a beat maker does is totally different. Concepts and techniques that work for what he does aren't always necessary for hip hop.

This nikka said you a nerd if you know how to make music. :mjlol:

This is some minstrel show/black face level of ignorance. :dead:

No it’s some minstrel level ignorance to take one part of a post to be on some internet blackness police ass shyt. You conveniently left out the entire paragraph after that, but it’s ok, I’ll copy it and paste it below:

“All you need to do to learn how to make beats is to make beats. I can sample three different songs on one beat and match them if I want to. I can grab a loop and add another random ass loop in there and match them. I can play everything in key when I add my own sounds. I can do shyt like this from simply making beats over the years. Your ear develops by making fukking beats, not by studying music theory lol. Hip hop raw and ain’t no rules. Get your fukking hands dirty”

Ill agree to disagree, I’ll note that im starting to see for myself that Quincy words are starting to ring true-er
Mainly, repetition, its as simple as picking / creating another sample, loop, part etc to switch out from the main one.

all in all, he’s just saying stop being lazy and using excuses to justify the current stagnation, since that’s what they sound like. Is it wrong to want black excellence in hip hop music production?

listen to this man, music theory is just "theory/technique" (aka an idea). you develop your actual sound/style by making beats

Looks like your understanding of hip hop is as bad as Quincy.

This started off looping breaks in a record. Sampling is an extension that. It's carrying on tradition. I love Quincy's music but could care less what he, Branford, or any old man has to say about hip hop if they're not trying to grasp the culture behind it. People like Bob James or Roy Ayers get it.

Loop based beats are a canvas for rappers to get their bars off. A bunch of changes and instrumentation isn't always needed. A chorus may not be needed.

For a beat maker it's about finding a rare loop that no one has touched, flipping a sample beyond recognition, or just doing whatever sounds good to your ear. This is not a rigid, rules based genre.

.
big emphasis on not needed, i can produce film scores now at this point when i try and put those crazy changes in people give me the :dahell: look, most vocalist don't want all that crazy shyt this aint the 80s or 70s unless they ask for it. just keep it simple

if anything you better off focusing on arrangement than instrumentation: i.e when to drop the bass, bring in the strings, leave out the hi hat etc

nikka stop being scared to make beats. You should be an actor cause you dramatic, but you would be scared to show up to the auditions. You got the confidence of a blind nikka in a maze. nikkas about to be state certified counselors cause they done gave you so much advice on here. I made three beats today cause I love making beats. Obviously you don’t love the shyt cause you talk about it more than you do it. nikka how you got producerphobia? This not a world where the weak and unconfident thrive.
This brother gotta be one of the funniest posters on here :mjlol:. Never misses.
