Its a classic and is remembered as such so I would agree

I would like to argue Black on Both Sides, Internal Affairs and the Slim Shady LP should count as classics too but thats just me :dame:

Eminem got people got everybody like. "Who the fukk is Cage and Insane Clown Posse?"

It would be closer if Mos Def didn't have those moon boots and rock n roll songs :scust:
People really sleeping on the impact MM had in 99 :wow:
That shyt hit hip hop harder than Sherm the Worm's fist hit :pdahell:'s face outside the Tunnel at the Murda Muzik release party :wow:
The same party where every single QB boss' car got stolen :patrice:
Shoot the car up? :patrice:

my vote goes to drama aka the bootleg version of pac: left left left left left right left, get on up get on up get on up right left :pacspit: :ohlawd::russ:

nah but real talk the 99 was a below average year, a standard year between two great years of 98 and 00

dre had the best produced album, cant rate him as a rapper

jay and nas made very meh albums that year.

em's album as ok but the production was really bad...

mos def was probably the best lyricist that year. Roots also made a great album. Mobb Deep was good too, DOOM and Pharoahe making quality albums. But those are the albums every year had, nothing groundbreaking.

:what::what: how is mos getting more votes than prodigy :dahell::dahell:

we really gonna act like this wasn't the song / video of da year

This is gonna be the most "underground" rapper to take the MVP in 1990. I don't even wanna call Mos underground b/c its not really fair to call him that. He wasn't underground. But he was more on the fringe of hip hop then any prior year's MVP.

This. MM was their biggest album and P was arguable at his best. His verse on the original Quiet Storm is one of the goats

Breh made a song about water :martin:
We were all waiting for this album to drop :gladbron:
It's gonna be a classic :gladbron:
Then we get the album and Mos rapping about water for three minutes :martin:
I still think the album is a classic despite a couple wack tracks. Mos Def basically erased the underground/mainstream line that existed back then
