I still think the album is a classic despite a couple wack tracks. Mos Def basically erased the underground/mainstream line that existed back then
Yeah - I think its a classic too. Although I listened to it earlier this year and didn't really think it held up as well as I expected it to.
I even like the moon boots and zoot suits song :lolbron:
The water song and the rock n roll song though :dwillhuh:
I mean, I really appreciate the message on the rock and roll song, and he wisely sampled Prodigy on it :russ:, but when it breaks out into a full on rock song :dame:

I don't understand why Pharoah Monch has zero votes and Mos has 13 :mindblown:

I'll vote for him, shyt's crazy, this guy and masta ace one of the most underrated rappers ever. The organized konfusion where Pharoahe was rapping his ass off. They had a great quality albums. Once he went solo and did The infernal affairs it wasn't something groundbreaking but he did his thing and this time no prince po ruining any song with his mediocre rapping. It wasnt as good as Stress, but still a very quality album.

Internal Affairs was dope. But it wasn't as good as Black on Both Sides.

I guess the point I'm trying to make is moreso, both albums are flawed, both are supremely talented rappers. One album doesn't have singing and rock songs :sas1:
Yet one album has 13 and the other doesn't have a single vote? :jbhmm:
I was expecting Mos to get more votes than Pharoah - but not like this.
