Oroko Saki
The Shredder
Nas barely but i respect anyone that says Rakim. In my opinion Pac Nas and Rakim are top 3 and they're interchangeable
nas was never on ra's level.
he was ill when he first started and over time.
showed where he was lacking where the master always outshined what little nas could do.
nas can only spit well over boombap consistently and be at his topnlevel.
whereas ra can go on any soundscape sonically and still be masterful and not lose touch with his skillbase.
ra would not have made a wack run on sentence appearance every beat on distant relatives.
like that wack offkey bullshyt nas made on dr.
plus ra would not sound out of place on any rnb or girl record.
like nas consistently sounds when out of his pocketed element.
nas lacks convincability on different soundscapes...ra never has that problem, period.
ra is seamless,..nas has parameters he can not go beyound and is limited.
learn emcee'n before you speak on the gawd,..and sound as stoopid as your post i had to quote.
art barr
for nikkas sayin Nas took Ra's style it's just bullshyt..cause them nikkas honestly aint really rap alike at all..Nas was more like G Rap than Rakim...which makes more sense considering Nas' history anyway...
to me he was mixture of g rap and rakim as far as patterns go
to me he was a mixture of G Rap and himself...mixed wit a LIL bit of Trag influence...

i get the g rap influence because of the multi rhyme pattern shyt
but the rakim is most def true the way they rhyme they lines
is exactly like and where they place rhymes in the bar is similar also.
lol at rakim being seamless. they both lack things that the other one has. rakim is more technical, which is what he focuses on. nas has better narative and is more of a poet than a "technical/lyrical" emcee.
rakim can rap over anything can he? then why doesn't he?
There's more than a little bit of Tragedy in his style.
