I've heard my dad say it a couple times. I've never heard my mother use it.

Seems like they just weren't brought up saying it and it wasn't ingrained in them like it was my generation .

I don’t say it around my parents, or any elder to be honest. I really don’t use the word at all. If I use it, it’s around other black ppl.

I can’t ever remember hearing either of them say it. My mom uses Jewish and Asian slurs all the time. But they were born in the South in the 50s and went to segregated schools. They don’t play that shyt. I don’t even watch movies or listen to music with the word “nikka” around them

Speaking of slurs, my auntie will call a white person a cracka in a heartbeat.

I’m curious, neither of my parents use it and my Dad hates the word with a passion, he uses “joker” instead. Part of why I tend not to use it in real life and reserve it for my e-thuggery(jk but only slightly).

The same my parents hate and that is one of the reasons I don't use it.

My father used it religiously. Never as a term of endearment, always to bash someone. That’s why I’ll call anyone that; white black etc. To me, it always was meant ignorant, or highlights someone’s ignorance...
