In answer to your question OP breh, yes. Music is always going to be important to any generation. And in any generation, some will care way more about the music. and others wont. I know old people who didn't give a fukk about music from the 70s onward. There will always be people who don't give a fukk about music (I wonder how they live life, frankly), people who are trend followers, casual fans and then fanatics.
There's always good and bad music in every generation. But all genres have their periods of high innovation and periods of low innovation/shyte quality.
I wonder how new kids consume music. Especially since it's way more available now than ever. Is it all about "what's the hottest thing right now" like this is classic for 5 minutes because I happen to be on social media, now I'm bumping this other 5 minute classic because I'm on the way to the club, etc.
The shelf life of these shyts is nonexistent for the most part, but maybe shelf life is irrelevant in a world with infinite shelf space.

You probably have a point then, but to be honest, I don't really interact with people that young on anything beyond a superficial level, if at all, so I really don't know.
I don't like Migos music, but at least they are rapping, number one, and putting effort into it and using a style that isn't easy to pull off.
