The albums I listed above didn't really have a social media presence but they're pretty solid projects especially Lupe's album

It's not a value judgment breh. I do think YT is garbage, but that's not the basis for saying he's not hip hop.
It's a classification thing.
What defines a hip hop record?
Rapping would be one required element to me.
Then the question becomes is he rapping or singing or something else?
To me...when I hear YT, that's not rapping to me. As a matter of classification, its confusing to lump him in with hip hop artists.
