Whereas Ashton is always playing a troubled young hood dude which can come across as inauthentic at times. As far as actors from Moonlight, Jharrel Jerome is better imo. The problem is that his dour, confused yet quietly mad at the world demeanor worked in Moonlight and after it was quickly revealed that it was his only lane.

Take Brian T. Henry for instance. We can all watch his interviews and peep son coming off sweeter than a cup of watermelon lemonade on a 70 degree day. But once he tap into that Paper Boy mode, it's very much believable. It's not the same with da Ashton nicca even though they both suppose to be classically trained. A. Sanders just come off try hard in these kind of roles to the max.
