Yes his current contract is worth that, but his next contract is going to be avg'ing out to about 13 mil a year, don't pay yourself kiddo.

Look at what the Jets are getting for Revis, the Bucs refusal speaks volumes.

He aint worth what they think he's worth.

We know we gonna have to pay him out the ass for a contract, that's why we ain't tryin' to give up that 1st this year and a second next, I still think a 2 and 4 this year and a 3 next would suffice.

If Revis isn't going to get the value he thinks he's worth, that would put the Jets in a better position to negotiate.

Worst case is that he leaves and we get a 3rd round comp, but hey according to LastEmp we can get the next Kaep or Russell Wilson with that 3rd so what do we have to lose?

Id take a first next year over this years shytty draft

People are saying the Jets frotn office are postioning themslves for a qb in next years draft so why not take a 1 in a much better draft which helps you acheive that goal?

The 2nd rounder that would come with that 3rd rounder.

The Revis adulation is so comical, it's like since the tam can't be good you want to at least have one player to beat your chests about.

You're delusional if you think a guy coming off ACL surgery is gonna command $13 mil a year.

Like I've said repeatedly, if no one's gonna make a decent offer for Revis, the Jets will just hold onto him, let him walk and get the comp pick for him.

Teams that are interested in signing him better hope he doesn't beast this season though, otherwise those contract numbers WILL go up.

That 2nd rounder will never be as good or as elite as Revis. I don't even know if he'll draft a starter with the 2nd rounder he already has. He will have 18 picks in the next 2 years. He'll have to strike gold on 12 of them at least.

Having Revis here and productive is better than him gone and not giving a shyt about anything left here, not even the draft picks we get back.

Weren't you the other day questioning why I was so comfortable tanking 2013, now the Jets are doing just that and now it's wise to you?

no one was asking for vucaloieie(sp)

they was talking about 3 1st round picks. a superstar back and all types of wild shyt :deadmanny:

jets not getting shyt for him. they should consider a 2nd a steal for a guy who wont be on the team next year OR the bucs on top of it

I questioned how you can be cool with that? Like knowing you're done on March 14th, that's miserable shyt.

It's a wise move from an outsiders p.o.v, as a fan I don't know how i`d handle the obvious tanking of a season.

So what you're saying is you`d rather root-root-root for Revis for one year then possibly build the future of your team?

Because your player is not WORTH that money.

He is going to be wanting over 13m a year and he simply is not WORTH that. Every GM needs to place a value on a player/position, and if the player is asking for more than that, you gotta let him find it elsewhere. You can get 2-3 good players for what you`ll be paying Revis.

The draft picks you get can turn into great players. Kaep was a 2nd rounder. Wilson a 3rd, both these guys are good examples how great talent can be found later in the draft. Drew Brees was a 2nd round QB.

Get the picks and use them wisely and enjoy the cap space that you`ll have when you're not paying a CB 13million.

Didnt the 49ers give Nate Clements $10+ million a few years back
A healthy Revis is worth around $12 million. Guys like Eric Berry came back from acl injuries last year and made the pro bowl, I think Revis can come back healthy.

I dont get the idea of bad teams should not pay their best player is coming from, this isnt the NBA. The Lions should of not paid Megatron if that's the case. The Jets can build through the draft, and add pieces through FA while keeping the talent they have in order to improve. They shouldn't just give away Revis

I'd rather root root root for Revis for the next 4 or 5 years while building the future of my team (and yes the Jets can do both). Obviously I'd pay him.

You cant pay a CB 16 mill a season though. If they can reach a fair deal, im all for keeping Revis.

Why do you think paying Revis what he's worth is a burden? If paying your best player is a burden when he doesn't restrict you from doing ANYTHING, then you're not willing to pay anyone, and who wins that way?

If they're cleaning house, why are most of the liabilities still here?

and get something? We're in a thread about how Revis won't even get a damn first? What are we getting? Depth on special teams? Are we drafting the next Von Miller at 9 let alone with some 2nd rounder? No. Aldon Smith? No. Some elite QB? No. Some great replacement for Revis? No! Stop assuming that somehow Revis will be flipped for something so good we'll look back on dealing Revis and know we did the right thing.
so then why not pay him already ? or are they really still undecided on him ?

basically, my point is if theyre committed to letting him walk after this season....might as well trade him for the highest offer.

you squeeze out the most value you can and you make a trade. it doesnt matter who the player is. joe montana, tom brady, patrick willis or revis

I know if my team was in the shytter and in the same situation and they werent about to pay the best player Id want to get the best possible pick for him.

the jets are playing the stupid 'we're gonna keep him if we dont get a first' game and they're going to lose it and come out with a late third rounder in next years draft as a comp pick when they can get a higher pick in this years deep draft.

if I was the jets fan, Id be fukking PISSED. you guys are content :manny:
