Yes his current contract is worth that, but his next contract is going to be avg'ing out to about 13 mil a year, don't pay yourself kiddo.
Look at what the Jets are getting for Revis, the Bucs refusal speaks volumes.
He aint worth what they think he's worth.
If Revis isn't going to get the value he thinks he's worth, that would put the Jets in a better position to negotiate.
Worst case is that he leaves and we get a 3rd round comp, but hey according to LastEmp we can get the next Kaep or Russell Wilson with that 3rd so what do we have to lose?

The 2nd rounder that would come with that 3rd rounder.
The Revis adulation is so comical, it's like since the tam can't be good you want to at least have one player to beat your chests about.
That's funny .. seeing as the Magic got the better of every team in that trade.![]()
That 2nd rounder will never be as good or as elite as Revis. I don't even know if he'll draft a starter with the 2nd rounder he already has. He will have 18 picks in the next 2 years. He'll have to strike gold on 12 of them at least.
Having Revis here and productive is better than him gone and not giving a shyt about anything left here, not even the draft picks we get back.
Weren't you the other day questioning why I was so comfortable tanking 2013, now the Jets are doing just that and now it's wise to you?
Because your player is not WORTH that money.
He is going to be wanting over 13m a year and he simply is not WORTH that. Every GM needs to place a value on a player/position, and if the player is asking for more than that, you gotta let him find it elsewhere. You can get 2-3 good players for what you`ll be paying Revis.
The draft picks you get can turn into great players. Kaep was a 2nd rounder. Wilson a 3rd, both these guys are good examples how great talent can be found later in the draft. Drew Brees was a 2nd round QB.
Get the picks and use them wisely and enjoy the cap space that you`ll have when you're not paying a CB 13million.

I questioned how you can be cool with that? Like knowing you're done on March 14th, that's miserable shyt.
It's a wise move from an outsiders p.o.v, as a fan I don't know how i`d handle the obvious tanking of a season.
So what you're saying is you`d rather root-root-root for Revis for one year then possibly build the future of your team?
I'd rather root root root for Revis for the next 4 or 5 years while building the future of my team (and yes the Jets can do both). Obviously I'd pay him.
so then why not pay him already ? or are they really still undecided on him ?Why do you think paying Revis what he's worth is a burden? If paying your best player is a burden when he doesn't restrict you from doing ANYTHING, then you're not willing to pay anyone, and who wins that way?
If they're cleaning house, why are most of the liabilities still here?
and get something? We're in a thread about how Revis won't even get a damn first? What are we getting? Depth on special teams? Are we drafting the next Von Miller at 9 let alone with some 2nd rounder? No. Aldon Smith? No. Some elite QB? No. Some great replacement for Revis? No! Stop assuming that somehow Revis will be flipped for something so good we'll look back on dealing Revis and know we did the right thing.
