We're not a top six team though. With or without Rose this year.


Rose wasn't looking like MVP Rose coming back from the ACL tear . To expect him to come back a few months from now and look like MVP Rose, still having to adjust to the ACL and now meniscus tear and be MVP Rose is ridiculous.

To expect him to come back from another major injury and have to carry the team again is crazy and is the reason we can go into the offseason, only add Mike Dunleavy to the roster.

Part of the reason you blow it up is BECAUSE we now have a max contract on the roster belonging to a guy with bad knees. You need to have flexibility to make sure the team can compete with or without him. And by compete I don't mean a 5th seed, that if lucky, can make it to the 2nd round, which is what we were last year.

This was hindsight like people, including me, were saying two years ago we should trade Deng for GS pick to draft Drummond because we needed to retool and resigning Deng would've limited our team was hindsight

I agree with everything, but I can't see how the bolded is possible. If we get melo in here, is that really a true contender without Rose? yeah Melo is a scorer, without Rose, who takes the pressure off him, DJ?

It wasn't even about Melo at the time.

It was about ending the season with a top 7 pick, Charlotte's pick, any other picks we may have received from trading Taj/MDJ + a shyt ton of cap space.
