of course but an ivy league school can also be a PWI and most are including upenn. i think OP changed the post or thread title though.

i think they meant to say pwi vs hbcu or ivy league vs a state school.

saying ivy league vs PWI makes no sense but upenn is a PWI lol

Technically they all are PWI. Here's the official definition of Ivy League.

"Ivy League refers to the eight elite research universities that make up the Ivy League conference – Harvard, Yale, UPenn, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, and Cornell. These eight schools are known for academic excellence and high selectivity in their admissions."

Honest question from a foreigner, not being sarcastic or anything. When y'all go to the doctor, do y'all really check to see which school they got their diploma from?
I’ve looked at schools attended when choosing a new doctor, not much else you can go on if not being referred by a personal friend

Exactly.

So they were using the wrong term.

I care more about how long they’ve been practicing and positive reviews from past/current patients.

Lol @ people willing to get surgery from a doctor with wet ink on their degree, simply because they went to Harrvaard. Couldn’t be me :yeshrug:

The projection :mjlol:

Maybe to her, attending one of the top Universities in the world far outweighs your babble.

More black families need to be pro education and scholastic achievement.

Lastly, :salute: to the sista. Congratulations!

Yea ok. Let's be real and stop the delusions. :mjlol:

HBCU students can't even be provided mold-less dorm rooms for God's sake :mjlol:

You saying Black folk can't and won't ever get it together? :mjpls:

I mean to me, the referral would hold more weight than their school. Hell, even online reviews would hold more weight. if i gotta do a surgery, the first question i would ask is how many similar surgeries they've done, as well as their success rate. Then i would search to see if i can find out about any malpractice suits against them. Then, again online reviews. All before caring about what school they went to years/decades ago.
