I know what song you're talking about, but I actually like that line. But I could understand not liking it

But you see how few and far between these lines are though? Like y'all have a rough times finding lines you don't like from a rapper that's been in the game for over 15 years (counting COC).

I'm not saying everybody gotta be a Cam fan or like his style or rapping, just disagree with people calling him out on things he doesn't actually do. Cause that's how the internet works, a lot of times people will just tend to follow the trends of things people say that have no real validity. That's my only point.
There was a few of them on PH. I just wasn't making a note of them to quote them here. It was prevalent enough for me to notice, but yeah - it ain't something he's doing 4 times a song.
I hear you on people running with shyt without the facts, but there's validity to my criticism. Of course, at the end of the day, its all a matter of taste.

Cam and Kanye are the two of most influential rappers in the last 10 years.

Kanye because when he was starting out, he was too soft. Now everybody dresses like him. He made it safe for regular nikkas to rap. No Drake or J. Cole without him.

Cam....homie personified swag. He was just that dude. Lil Wayne was on Dipset's dikk hard back in 05, 06, yanked Cam & Jimmy's whole style. You see Cam's influence now in Big Sean, (mixtape/pre-Rolling Papers) Wiz Khalifa, Asap Rocky. I see a bit of him in Dom Kennedy too. Cam invented "swag rap". All these nikkas owe him royalties tbh :manny:

fukk out of here with this bullshyt u try to force your bullshyt on everybody else like if anybody don't agree with you u disregard they opinion with disrespect it's like why debate if u going to just disregard everybody's opinion it defeats the purpose imo.

He gets so defensive about it. It's almost like deep down he knows that Cam has weak lyrics.

Agree that its a great line. And the following line was brutal. After listening to PH, I've come to some conclusions about the style he was using on that album. First of all, he sound boring and uninspired frequently. I like my Cam to have a bit of passion to him - and often on Purple Haze he comes across as if he realizes he's just stringing words together to make the multis hot. That particular line - and song - and Killa Cam as well - his flow is just so much more compelling.

His COC shyt was hot - although there isn't much of it (or I don't have a lot of it). The Stretch and Bobbito freestyle over the Lord Finesse freestyle especially. He set that shyt off right. He had passion - energy - multis - punchlines.

His style on the few tracks I have from COF was just awful (especially on the original Horse & Carriage). I'm just a few songs into SDE - but I can tell I'm gonna like Cam's energy on this album more. But we'll see.

Oh - and on one listen - PH is about a 3 maybe a 3.5. Some of the production was ass. Girls is an abomination. And it dragged on and on and on (the album I mean - quality control).

If I'm quoting the same singles run - whatever that means, then give us other examples of Cam's hidden hustler meanings to his music.

Fishscale was damn near perfect. If Ghost's albums don't matter (other than the two) - neither do Cams.

More ignorant bias and no knowledge of skills.
nikka, stfu.

You letting that smelly turban crotch smelling bytch send you all the way off, and you think you on point.

Chu dumb ass that thang.

Ghost isn't btter than Cam at all. You nerds just love Wu Tang so much, you give Ghost a pass for the same shyt you want to take away from Killa for

They both use a lot a slang terms in their raps, only difference is Cam's makes way more sense if you're from the streets. Nothing Cam says is confusing if you actually just know East coast slang

notice, none of these dudes want to address the bolded.

and yea, ghostface be stringing random catchy words together for no reason, but leave it up to these dudes and they'll say that he does the style way better and makes more sense.

Don't want to address it? :stopitslime:
I've asked numerous times for examples!
Ghost did the style better to me, but it's a matter of taste. Haven't had a chance to listen to more Cam since I last posted in this thread, but I will be back to post more examples of bad lines when I do.

lol. yea, that line was brutal. "plug ya ace/take ya girl, f*ck her face".:king:

what songs does he sound uninspired on?

"girls" was just a comedic track like "push it".

those ghost albums don't matter because they weren't relevant offline. that's the difference.

The nerds go crazy for PH era Cam too...they really are similar in that they went through a phase where the raps became a bit abstract - difference is that Ghost killed it. Cam didn't. But to me, the corniness with Cam doesn't come from that - its moreso the rhyme style. He really relies on rhyming the same word to a highly predicable degree. That gets corny after a while. Multis for the sake of multis - corny after a while. Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't. And Cam never had production like Ghost.

the bolded kinda sums up why I put ghost slightly ahead of cam.

because hes really not a better emcee. I just give him the nod as a better artist because of his 1st 2 albums. and to be real, the beats were better than the raps. not to mention that raekwon outshined him on ironman, and theres controversies concerning the writing for supreme clientele.

youre right, but cam's influence spans over all types of rappers.

not just the weirdos on the tv screen.

Cam hasn't influenced anyone by himself. Dipset most likely did but Cam on his own didn't. And setting stupid trends like wearing pink and saying no homo don't count.
