I didn't say Killer Mike was an idiot.

And I'm not equating education with skill...but theres a general trend.

MOST of these rappers aren't really that bright. And don't come at me with this "cac education" bullshyt.
You said Mike was college educated. He dropped out after a year. I was correcting you.

Never said you were.

Never said they were. Never came at you with anything. I'm Irish, breeuhhs.

Heres the difference....a lot of those 5 Percenter teachers weren't fake deep cause they REALLY thought they had knowledge.

it was more smart-dumb shyt, but it was the sincerity they had.

If you wanna call Jay Electronica "Smart Dumb"...I'll allow it. But he makes incredible songs that are incredibly sincere and honest about what he seriously believes.

Theres no half-assing or question or hesitation or refinement to it. Its raw and appears genuine.

Who said Big L was a five percenter:jbhmm:?

Why do you think gangbangers cant offer critiques of their own lifestyles?
Why do you think dopedealers cant offer critiques of their own lifestyles?
If anyone is fit to critique said lifestyle, its the person living it and know they're living foul.
Thus, YG > Kendrick

I can't take post like this serious.

The people who would dap this would then go in another thread and shyt on Kodak Black, Young Thug and Kevin Gates even though all of them fall into similar upbringings and have distinctive voices with insightful commentary and stories to tell.

Yall are so dishonest lol.
So your point is if you respect Nas then you should respect Kevin Gates? So you call the more 'respected' rappers fake deep as a way to lash out at people who don't respect the rappers that you like?

Like I said corny...

I feel like a lot of the people that accuse rappers of being "fake deep" have a super linear and rigid point of view towards music and thats corny

At the end of the day these are artists/poets. You can't box them in and say "unless your an expert on this subject you can't rap about it". You gotta give every artist their own individual context Nas is a thoughtful 9th grade drop out who grew up on 70s and 80s black culture. Kendrick a "good kid" who came from 90s gang culture, Rza is a dusthead informed by Islam and Kung Fu movies etc etc.

Fact checking rappers is the dumbest thing you can do and completely misses the point of hip hop.

KRS was an uneducated homeless kid sleeping on trains but when he started rhyming he became "The Teacher". If he sounds like a crazy street preacher at times...GOOD. Thats his voice.

If you can't respect that your whole perspective is wack...
Who cares if they're poets though?

I only respect successful execution

Attempts isn't good enough. Intentions aren't good enough.

Ya'll keep wanting to reward attempts..."well he's trying to share positive messages"...no one cares!

I noticed the people who love fake deep rapper are fake deep people... the people who identify with the fake deepness casue they never lived any of the real shyt either...
Its common with a lot of people who think they're better than other people.

Its like people who ACTUALLY listen to Jazz because they enjoy it...and those who enjoy telling other people they listen to jazz.

Completely different group of people.
