I just took a job at a start up and there are clear metrics I have to meet that can be measured. If I meet or exceed those metrics and it only takes me less than 8 hours than who gives a fukk?

But if 15% of your staff isn’t hitting their KPI, should you not fire them?

what if that 15% is already on a performance plan (discipline) and to be more efficient you just decide as a company to get rid of those people?

what if that 15% in staff deduction only accounts for 3% productivity? You’re supposed to let them hang on at a loss?

I get the whole “it’s Christmas” angle, but IF warranted (if, because I don’t know ) is a CEO supposed to look out for individuals at the detriment of the company?

I don’t get the outrage. It’s shytty yes, but without more context it’s hard to know how to frame it (besides it being bad timing, but when is good timing to get fired?)

Situations like this are why I never have a problem with people moving in their own best interests.

Take your paid time off, vacations, move on if you got a better option, and all that other shyt because these companies won’t hesitate to terminate you the minute they’re not reaching productivity goals or if they want to suddenly do budget cuts.

They give no fukks about you, you are just a number on a sheet of paper to them.

It is also why I would encourage you to start your own business and have multiple streams of income, so you aren’t azzed in the event of something like this happening.
