That's nonsense. They both did. Chuck came in at like 310, and Moses & Doc got on him to lose weight, and he'd get better. And he did. He was just a headache for most teams. Shaq got tired of other great C's finessing him, and added more to his game. He didn't stop caring until after Kobe started taking over, and he didn't have to worry about other C's.

They just lacked self control when it came to food. By all accounts they still worked very hard on their game and played at a level of greatness.
Barkley was a drunk and a gambler who gave up at the end of his career. Again, higher talent level than Simmons so he had a better career and wanted the ball more than Simmons, but he had another level that we never saw much.

Shaq after 2000 didn’t work as hard to improve.

Nothing off base about what he’s saying…

…Only 450 out of 8 billion people on planet Earth will even occupy an NBA roster spot at any given time to begin with. Of that 450, only 150 will start in any games. The percentages get even smaller when you break down how many of these guys will be All-Stars, Hall of Famers, or champions over the course of their careers…even if they ALL wanted these things and worked for them.

This is before we get down to how many of these guys are wired and talented beyond measure for those pursuits. It’s a reason you can count the Brons, KDs, Giannises, Stephs, & Kawhis on one or 2 hands…meanwhile the majority is made up of WAY more regular guys who are just happy to have even made it to league.

this post reminds me of my old teammate and later rival Josh Howard

If he was wired different how probably could’ve been a HOF

Even Kobe said he was a problem…. Quote unquote.

That’s why I Stan and support my other hometown young g Chris Paul. He stayed dialed in and he will be in the HOF

I hate when people call Shaq lazy

He only fell off in 2005 - at age 33, which is actually normal for most centers other than Kareem. And Kareem was naturally lanky. Shaq was always a big guy, and him doing Kobe-esque training would have broken his body down fast.

To be honest, even Kobe doing Kobe-esque training broke down his body

But Shaq should have followed the Tim Duncan route. Duncan lost weight, increased his stamina, and did alot of stretching techniques. That's what Shaq should have done

I guess, but what Duncan did was aided by having Kawhi, Parker, Ginobli, etc.

Those Heat rosters weren't really that great in comparison. It was him and a young Wade.

Talk about Kuzma is racist to me especially considering he’s FROM FLINT MICHIGAN THEY STILL DONT HAVE fukkING CLEAN WATER. Kuzma was drafted 27 and worked hard he wasn’t supposed to be the last one standing in LA. But because he LIGHTSKIN these dog whistle shyt is so prevalent man plays defense very good.

Mike Beas the biggest disappointment because even KD still in awe of him to this day.

If Mike Beas played to a tenth of a hundred of his potential Wade don’t need Bron at all.

Shaq playing at a much lower weight would’ve taken a lot of wear and tear off his knees and back. Shaq himself had admitted to partying and bullshytting during the off-season and that he’d play himself into shape during the season.

Some of y’all are looking at Shaq and Barkley’s career with nostalgia glasses. Even in real time they were being criticized on not taking the game serious enough. It wasn’t a coincidence that Barkley’s best year was after playing on the Dream Team which kept him in shape during the off-season. Hell with Barkley there were lots of stories of him riding an exercise bike eating donuts while others practiced.

How many of y’all take that “mamba mentality” into y’all job everyday at work?
I used too for years working for a small company. Quickly surpassed everybody in my department and was third in command behind the owner and VP. Then we got bought and I realized that the big corporation was all about the political game and they didn’t give a fukk how much work my black ass was doing. shyt eventually broke me and turned me into saying fukking it and just clocking in and getting a check.
