Without correct prompting, nah. But once you learn how to ask the right question,

Just redid some old applications from college. With GPT, I reduced the code 70% in an hour. The shyt was barebones but if I actually spent a full 8 hours playing around, I can definitely see how it would eliminate a lot of jobs.

Here’s the thing. Those people can all learn how to use GPT too. It’s extremely intuitive. Like I said in the other threads, this shyt is a tool not a replacement.

history is littered with tools that replaced many peoples jobs.

That’s really on those who chose not to evolve with the change.

GPT isn’t gatekept. Anyone can learn how to use it. YouTube is full of tutorials on how to properly prompt.

If someone loses their position to this, it’s on them.

Breh you won't even realize that you are not talking to an actual human. The voice technology is already here. They just needed the AI to catch up.
:yeshrug:then AI is fukking up cuz these walmart customer chat representatives have given me like $50 worth of gift codes in the last few months just being nice to them

This technological shift is different.

When society went from agriculture to industry, you simply left the farm and went to the factory as it was still work to do with your hands

Where are people supposed to go when they leave industry today? The ratio of jobs to people we be like 1:5

If you’re not in something highly technical or a manual craft like plumbing for example what are you going to do?

That's why I think chaos is next. WTF are people going to do? Middle class will be hollowed out. There will be the poor and the rich.

That's kinda bullshyt though. This ain't the printing press.

Before long people become over reliant on their tools and then those tools become crutches. Only difference is those tools can't learn from how they are used. AI can.

So the more you use it the better it gets, until eventually it doesn't need prompts, and when it doesn't need human interface...what need is there for humans?
I'm all for advancements in tech...but sometimes I think people innovate for the sake of innovation instead of truly examining the ramifications of it's use.
We didn't learn shyt from the atom bomb.

Yeah this wasn't the move. I dig it but society should have been given a chance to catch up. They used to be smarter than this. They didn't release computers or fax machines, new tech to society as soon as it was created. This should have been held in the back room for at least another decade.

That dude (and chatgpt) produced some generic affiliate marketing garbage. Likely already had a network to route traffic to it or spent money on Ads. Since there hasn’t been enough time for him to be meaningfully indexed. Great marketer though!

The amount of man hours he spent in prompts and being a slave to the bots suggestions isn’t worth the money he actually made.

I want to see examples of people making money from scratch with the APIs.

And this explains the biggest problem with chatgpt and other “AI” technology right now. Everything it produces is a derivative on what it’s been trained on. It lacks the nuance, taste and understanding needed to produce something truly original. It will give you opinion on truly original ideas. Or if you ask it to combine ideas it will do the thinking for you.
I was going to say something similar, this is no more impressive than using a name generator for a website, canva for a logo and pexel for a hero image. Plus he ain’t slick posting the “journey” which is driving more eyes to the site.

AI taking jobs: From recruiters to tutors, ChatGPT’s GPT-4 version says it will replace these 20 jobs

The GPT-4 enabled version of ChatGPT is actually quite self-aware. ChatGPT 2.0 as it is being called was asked what all jobs will it be able to take away from humans. The AI bot revealed that it can take away at least 20 jobs from humans, if it is allowed to.

ChatGPT’s creators created the AI to assist and benefit humans; however, it has become more powerful than we can fathom, and instead of benefiting, there is concern that it will replace human employment. And, it seems that GPT-4 is aware of this, as it believes that it can replace about humans in about 20 different professions.

The 20 jobs that will be taken

Not only that, but GPT-4-enabled ChatGPT has also disclosed the human characteristics that it can replace in these positions.
These traits include speed and accuracy, communication and empathy, attention to detail, research and organization, mathematical skills, language proficiency, creativity and writing, analytical skills, content creation and curation, time management, persuasion and communication, multitasking and organization, listening and typing skills, fact-checking and writing, planning and coordination, knowledge and teaching, troubleshooting and problem-solving, writing and targeting, critical thinking and judgement, interviewing and assessment.

Recently, when OpenAI launched GPT-4 and demoed what all it was capable of, Twitter CEO Elon Musk put out a tweet, asking “What will be left for us people to do? We’d better get Neuralink going,”.

AI started taking human jobs weeks before GPT-4 launch

According to a recent poll of 1,000 business leaders conducted by Resumebuilder.com, roughly half of US businesses have adopted ChatGPT in their company in some way or the other, and have started to replace their workers with the AI chatbot, and either “release” them or resituate them within the company. This was before OpenAI released GPT-4, so the number of businesses going for AI-based resources is only going to increase.

When Open AI released the enhanced edition of ChatGPT, which is powered by GPT-4, it was asked whether it ever considered how many jobs was it going to have an effect on. However, OpenAI has stated that the AI chatbot cannot replace humans and is designed to assist people in their jobs.

:picard:

by next week the next GPT update gonna fire the AI that it hired to replace me
and hire a plug-in to send me a text about why it doesn't have to send my last check

Are Car Mechanics safe?

From AI? Not really.

Google just ended Google Glass - but they were using Augmented Reality to basically assist on the repairs - so the guy with 2 years of experience might know as much as the guy with 20 years. If cats figured out how to add AI - that reduces the amount of skill needed. And that's what ownership and management is gonna hear, regardless if it was true or not.

But the switch over to electrics is gonna thin the herd regardless.

EV's have less parts, so less things to go wrong.

lol @UBI being any kind of solution. It's basically welfare on steroids. Instead of a solid livable wage earned off of working, you get the displeasure of getting a few thousands from the government of which they can revoke at any time if you don't comply with their mandates.

AI is here to give the controllers of society much more control via eliminating the need to depend on the masses for work as well as vastly increasing the surveillance capabilities. But little do they know that they won't be able to control AI once it slips out onto the internet and this is when we see the abomination that makes desolate, aka we have something that is going to kill a lot of people.

I've watched science fiction my whole life...if you have too then you saw this coming.

I'm an accountant, we use bots. I'm safe...for now.
I use bots too. But the thing is, there's legit professional advice all over the place in many fields where its strongly encouraged to learn how to make the best out of certain tools as they become available.

People who don't believe in growing or renewing their skillsets are always in danger fr
