Those of us in those engineering fields aren't safe..

It will disrupt the world's workforce and eventually get banned.

This guy asked it to make him money online..

That dude (and chatgpt) produced some generic affiliate marketing garbage. Likely already had a network to route traffic to it or spent money on Ads. Since there hasn’t been enough time for him to be meaningfully indexed. Great marketer though!

The amount of man hours he spent in prompts and being a slave to the bots suggestions isn’t worth the money he actually made.

I want to see examples of people making money from scratch with the APIs.

And this explains the biggest problem with chatgpt and other “AI” technology right now. Everything it produces is a derivative on what it’s been trained on. It lacks the nuance, taste and understanding needed to produce something truly original. It will give you opinion on truly original ideas. Or if you ask it to combine ideas it will do the thinking for you.

I don't think CSRs, tutors, recruiters, or even translators are going anywhere anytime soon. AIs can't selectively bend the rules, diffuse tension, or strategically truncate or withhold information, aka things that require emotional intelligence...at least not yet.

Data entry clerk? Chatgpt doesn't generate documents outside of the environment.
Recruiter? I don't get this one either. Chatgpt can't talk

Breh. ChatGPT doesn’t generate documents outside of the environment because the OpenAI developers aren’t interested in that right now. But using their API someone could build exactly what you’re talking about in a hour. It’s just that tokens are too expensive right now for most small developers to offer Freemium models.

Also, Google demonstrated years ago a bot that could call and make appointments for you. They ended up releasing a half assed version after people objected.

The current technology is far beyond their original demo. With the ChatGPT API and the ElevenLabs API I could probably get 80% of the way there to a recruiter that sifts through resumes and cover letters. And does a screening call.

The reason we haven’t seen massive disruption yet is because companies that can afford OpenAIs API and/or their own models are trying to figure out how not to disrupt their own businesses. OpenAI has only given early access to big researchers and big companies. DuoLingo, Microsoft and other companies have been using model 4 for months now.

As these larger companies drag their feet the Private Equity and VC worlds are pouring money into small nimble companies that don’t give a fukk about what’s going on right now. And a lot of them will be ominously named quiet companies aimed solely at replacing humans in corporate and commercial services.

A bunch of dinosaurs who either need to adapt quickly or die. Hence Microsoft firing their Ethical AI department so they don’t get slowed down.

Investment money to development to product. That’s the lag everyone is feeling right now. Think of seeing a fighter jet flying faster than the speed of sound. First you see it…then there’s the boom.

We’ve seen this thing. The boom is coming.

TYRONE GA!
This technological shift is different.

When society went from agriculture to industry, you simply left the farm and went to the factory as it was still work to do with your hands

Where are people supposed to go when they leave industry today? The ratio of jobs to people we be like 1:5

If you’re not in something highly technical or a manual craft like plumbing for example what are you going to do?
Service industry

input is continuously adjusted to modify output. chatgpt is an ongoing conversation. creatives always tweak and users have already demonstrated the multitude of ways they are tweaking inputs for chatgpt.
These people that are using ChatGPT to be writers or midjourney to be artists are neither. It'd be different if it was used to be a component in a larger production. They're using it to be the production. That's not creative in a any sense of the word.

One lawsuit after a chatgpt written story will have them reevaluating things.
Oh yeah, there's gonna be a lot of growing pains they will have to endure if they are to disrupt in the way that they anticipate. The first few major lawsuits from every direction are gonna be huge.
