I'm assuming you never went to school in the hood. There were winters with no heat. I'm talking 0 degrees outside and there's icicles forming inside the damn classroom. Not enough books to go around, teachers not giving a fukk, and sometimes not even enough chairs/desks in the class. And on top of that no matter what, they'll just pass you to the next grade just to get you out of the system.

How do you expect someone to study for the SAT when they've received a poor education their entire life? Their not even reading at a Junior HS grade level by the time they graduate, if they even make it that far. Every time I think about it, I think God shyt jumped off and we had to leave the city and moms moved down south. I'm bout 80% sure I'd be dead or in prison if that didn't happen.

My older brother was smart enough to skip from grade 6 to grade 9, and ended up dropping out of HS. He said ain't no way in hell he was gonna go there when he seen nikkas smuggling in weapons past the metal detector

To kids raised in the slums with no hope see this is more than entertainment but a soundtrack to their lives. I mean if people really are about positive change why entertain a genre that reiterates the idea that drug dealing and killing are the only viable ways of maneuvering in their situation? You're on the wrong forum. Also, to suggest that infrastructure or geography isn't a factor is flat out denial of basic sociology.

i think the answer to all of this is suburban field trips.

kids should be driven out the ghettos and taken to their favorite celebrities houses. sounds crazy, i know, but hear me out. then the teacher could explain "do you see _____ house? amazing isn't it. now look at all of his white/asian neighbors. none of them got here by sports entertainment, they got here through education. this is the benefit of education, you can live this lifestyle of luxury w/o having to play ball or rap."
