Look up Project MARAUDER, and come back to this thread after you do and realize I'm spitting facts in here. :sas2:

According to one report published just over a decade after the whole thing went dark, the Marauder program was capable of firing ball lighting bolts that would explode on impact with the force of five pounds of TNT. The bolts would also send out heat, potentially superheated metal shards, and an electromagnetic pulse that would scramble unshielded electronics.

:damn:

That’s all fine and dandy but nukes are the great equalizer.
Any major conflict would be ballgame status for all parties. Who gives a fukk about railgun tech when Russia could completely destroy our major cities with nukes in a matter of hours?

SOHH.. You think Russia will continue it's existence after the first nuke is fired?

Russia can bust some shots but they will quickly become a historical footnote. Like, totally wiped from the face of the Earth.

China threatens Taiwan with 'demise' after Taipei lawmaker warns of missiles that can reach Beijing

China has threatened Taiwan with an “accelerated demise” in retaliation to a Taipei lawmaker’s revelation that the self-governed island has supersonic missiles capable of reaching Beijing.
You Si-kun, president of Taiwan’s Legislative Assembly, disclosed the Yun Feng missile’s capabilities at a keynote speech on Sunday. He said he already knew that this type of missile could reach Beijing when he served as premier between 2002 and 2005, but he could not talk about it publicly at the time.
The Yun Feng, known in English as Cloud Peak, is a medium-range supersonic land-attack cruise missile. You said it is already in mass production, warning China to “think twice before invading Taiwan.”
“Taiwan of course would never invade China… nor would Taiwan actively strike Beijing or the Three Gorges Dam,” You said. “But before China attacks Taiwan, it must consider Taiwan's existing capacity to strike Beijing.”

Taiwan reportedly started developing the Yun Feng in secret after the 1996 Taiwan Strait crisis, which erupted after a series of missile tests conducted by China. The tests were meant as a warning to then-Taiwanese President Lee Teng-hui, whose administration was beginning to depart from Beijing’s One-China policy.
In his speech, You added that in the event of an invasion, Chinese vessels crossing the Taiwan Strait will be sunk by anti-ship missiles such as the Hsiung Feng III (Brave Wind III). But if Chinese forces do manage to land, he said Taiwanese people should have the same determination as the Ukrainians have had in their fight against Russia.
You, who also serves as Legislative Speaker of the Democratic Progressive Party, was among three Taiwanese officials sanctioned by China late last year. The other two were Premier Su Tseng-chang and Foreign Minister Joseph Wu.

China has long set its eyes on reunification, threatening to take Taiwan by force if necessary. In response to You’s statements, Beijing said through its Taiwan Affairs Office that the island would face a faster demise if it were to fight.
“The ravings of stubborn pro-Taiwan independence members like You Si-kun only exposes their frenzied nature,” spokesperson Ma Xiaoguang said, according to Newsweek. “If [they] dare strike a stone with an egg, it will only accelerate [their] demise.”
The war of words between Beijing and Taipei comes amid continued tensions in the Taiwan Strait, and also after U.S. President Joe Biden confirmed the country’s stance to defend the latter in the face of an invasion. The State Department, however, dialed down Biden’s comments to a degree last month.

The thing I have never understood about this is attacking America is literally suicide.

America has the capability to fight every country on this Earth at the same time. It would be mutually assured destruction, so there is literally no point in this.

You want everyone on Earth to die because you got a problem with Taiwan's acknowledgement? :wtf:

u do know that Russia spans a sizable span of the globe right? U cant nuke a land that size (wipe it off the map as u say) and not affect whole of Europe n parts of America as well. Love the patriotism but lets be logical

If you want war with China be prepared to lose everything. As a country they make everything. Even American weapons and medicine. The rae materials for medicine come from China. Car parts, microchips, your entertainment systems. You think Coke, Apple, Nike are just going to say fukk it to a country with almost 4 times the population of the US? Thats a lot of bread left on the table. Even if the US has the technology, they don't make it. Numbers aren't on their side when it comes to future capital either. Companies don't want to leave China for the US's sake, and that is a huge problem. fukk around and find out WW3 is sponsored by McDonald's...

This is the reason for the nuclear triad, lets say you pull off the perfect sneak attack (wont happen)and catch all the planes and missiles in their bases. You are leaving out the last third component the US has which is not stoppable

America's Nuclear Triad

The U.S. Navy has 14 Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines, eight of which operate out of Bangor, Washington, and six of which operate out of Kings Bay, Georgia. Each submarine can carry up to 20 Trident II D5 ballistic missiles. Each Trident missile can carry up to eight nuclear warheads, but usually carry four to five for an average of 90 warheads per submarine. The warheads are either the 90-kiloton W76-1 or the 455-kiloton W88. A small number of W76-2 low-yield warheads have also been deployed on some Ohio-class submarines.

The two bombs used in WW2 were equivalent to 15 kt weapons
Yup. Mufukkaz don’t know.
Was in NROTC in school and spent a year enlisted. Was on a docked Kings Bay Nuke Sub. shyts no joke

Exactly. Folks don't get it. The main thing is that none of these countries have the capabilities of stopping the others' nuclear volleys.

None of these countries can shoot down ICBM nuclear barrages traditionally shot the old-fashioned ways by old tech. No tech exists to cover an entire country from hundreds of nuclear payloads and the hundreds to thousands of decoys and covering missiles that'll fire with them to confuse, avoid and destroy the interceptors.

All of that other stuff is simply "nice-to-haves" but it doesn't stop the main threat, not even a little bit.

Russia going to war with Ukraine and China going to war with Taiwan are on equivalent scales as us going to war with Afghanistan. These are the exchanges where non-nuclear tech matters most. This is where lasers and railguns and all that other fancy tech come into play.

Going to war against a nuclear power is a whole other story.

Now if China, the U.S or Russia go to war with each other then nukes are pretty much the first and last option. It's practically a guarantee each country goes nuclear in that war. Nobody wants to be the side that doesn't use them so they'll see to it that they're the first and last ones to use them, which means they'll both use them simultaneously.

None of ya'll are seriously thinking they're going to shoot non-nuclear rockets and expect to trade non-nuclear strikes until somebody surrenders right? :mjlol:

Instead, each country will let off multiple nuclear volleys to annihilate the other. Nobody is going to wait and see what happens, they'll simply get to firing.

So yeah, it doesn't even really matter who has nuclear submarines or hypersonics or laser beams when you can't stop the traditional nukes from hitting your country anyways. Nobody is going to care about using the other tech because it don't hit like nukes do anyways.

That's why in 2022 you really can't tell another nuclear power what to do. Yea, you may be able to nuke North Korea off the map, but you'll have to deal with an entire leveled West Coast and nuclear radiation all over what's left of the farm belt after they send their 100+ nuclear warheads over our direction. Then you'd also have to pre-emptively shoot at Russia and China because that's their ally while the U.K and NATO will have to see if Iran and the Middle East start firing their way.

Not trying to sound unpatriotic because I got close family in the Marines, Navy and Air Force, but that's simply the situation.

Not even just about the Chinese citizens. Man, we North Americans are really arrogant. 65% of the world's population lives in S.E. Asia. These companies aren't leaving Asia any time soon. North America has a shrinking population. In the grand scheme of things, we're the past to these companies. Nike isn't going to say fukk 6 billion people to side with North America, neither will coke, Apple, or any of these other companies.

The people who run Nike won't exist. They won't be what they are without America.
