Gotta agree with Chuck on this.
NWA was a product of the same machine that polluted rap music by turning it into a gangsterific cash grab. Of course there would eventually be a movie about Hip Hop's most influential step-n-fetch-it's.
The same machine that signed the god Rakim and then shelved his project because he wouldn't rap their brand of corporate gangster rap.
The same machine that pushed 50 because he got shot 9 times then shelved him when the novelty wore off.
The same machine that launched Game as some kind of talent because he got shot even though he'd never rapped until that point.
The same machine that pimped Tupac into some kind of gangster rap martyr.

Not dismissing their talent, all these guys have skills, but the corporate backers behind them were definitely pushing a certain carefully marketed purposely negative image that directly went against what guys like Chuck were doing. He has every right to speak on and call out the moneyed interests involved in this fanfic bio and ask why can't their be a different message.

Regarding the interview I'mma check this ASAP.
Alot of things can be factor into them not having a P.E. movie . Like SKJ sum it up perfectly with the Jews/Zionist. Coincidentally the Book Secret Relationship between Black & Jews is brought up by Griff a couple of time. After that interview Griff had they were already seen as being Anti-Semitic in a sense. But it sorta magnified it 10x. keep it mind Sister Souljah was also in the mix with her comments and was down with P.E. He mention that when he started catching flack for his comments the only artist to show support were: Naughty By Nature, 2Pac, The Geto Boys, Just-Ice & Ice-T. Griff speaks about being in Def Jam recording studio and receiving death threats. And getting food poison while doing a concert in New Orleans back in 1988. The 3rd Bass situation comes from one of the members making a joke in regards to Malcolm. (Keep in mind 3rd Bass was started to somewhat neutralize P.E...Griff also claims that NWA were in a way brought about to neutralize Public Enemy...just how the Beastie Boys were the "answer" to Run DMC) Griff writes in the book that he was about to pick up a Ghettoblaster (Readers Note For The Young Bucks on TheColi.com: one of them big Radio Raheem radio) and smash this white boy. However Chuck intervene. Griff states in the book that he felt Chuck & some of the S1Ws (he name-drops James Bomb several times within the book) were being a hypocrite and feminine by walking around wearing a X hat and sampling NOI members (Khalid, Sister Ava, Bro Jabril ,etc) speeches, but when push came to shove he couldn't defend Malcolm X. Someone he claimed to have identify with.
One thing that book goes into also is the fact P.E. like the Black Panther Party had a lunch program in New Rochelle, taught martial arts free of charge. Griff also goes into detail that he was taught by a sister within the Nation Of Islam....Hung Gar and Karate. Being Road Manager for Queen Latifah & Neferititi at one point and speaks on them having PETV in a interview w/ Davey D and of course he goes in on Flavor Flav.... (The Roast, Flavor Of Love), mention Terminator X owning a ranch & running a ostrich farm.
He mention that Alot of the speeches that were use as samples came from him. Also he explain that the concept behind them coming out when they did was to "give the world enough information" within a 8 year time span. And alot of the song concept came from 2-4 hour cyphers where him Chuck D, Hank and Flavor were building. To the folks that are under the impression that Flavor wasn't nothing more than a hypeman..this is false...
Oddly enough though, that interview that Professor Griff did with this Guy wasnt suppose to take place. Griff stated that they were wrapping up a show. As the road manager he was approached by some folks interesting in doing a interview with Chuck D. Griff claims that him and Chuck had tension around this time and Chuck tell him "You do it man. Cause im not interested in doing any damn interviews". So Griff proceed to do the interview, all the awhile being put on the spot.

That Hollywood set aside to market black films.
Which occur from August to the back to school fall to winter schedule.

I'd choose PE over NWA any day but as much as I'd love a movie, these studios are about the dollar bill. A PE movie wouldn't sell well at all because of their content plus they don't have a marketable person to attach to the movie. The Biggie movie had Diddy, this one had Cube and Dre. Kids who don't know shyt about NWA but they know Cube from movies and Dre from headphones.
