Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (April 24, 2025)

This game is amazing.
GOTY caliber easy and one of the console generation defining games.
The story is GOAT level story telling, music, voice acting, graphics, all stellar.
I love the gameplay with mechanics reminiscent of Super Mario RPG, Blue Dragon, and Persona.
It's an incredibly well done amalgamation of everything the greatest RPGs have done right while have a 100% unique and fresh feel.
I can't praise the game enough for it's story and pacing.
No grinding to the fun, or slogging through this part and that part for that one epic moment.
Right off the bat a roller coaster of intensity, heart break, despair, and hope.

Can't really say anything that hasn't already been said, as far as the praise for this game. If you're an RPG fan and you're not playing this it's an L.

Having said that, I have no idea what the devs did in that last update. It was running great, 4K, 60 FPS, no issues....since the update it runs the same but it crashed like 6-7 times yesterday, which is insane.

Hopefully they figure that out. It's not unplayable or anything but it's annoying.

It is rather goofy and ironic to highlight slight "movie" games in praise of an RPG, considering they're the epitome of movie games. Everyone know what time you be on tho.

It’s happened in all Genres. In this case i was specifically talking about JRPGs.

Not sure how yall got sony slander out of that.

Finally got into it. Enjoyed the start + a bit more. I definitely wanna romance Lune if thats possible

Not sure if i wanna look up builds or just freeball it. I saw yall talking parrying so im practicing a lot tho apparently some attacks gotta be dodged

Making your own builds is part of the fun of the battle system. I had some Pictos/Lumina that made it so I get AP on turn start, on attack, on parry, and on perfect dodge. The more AP you got the more you can start fukking with your more powerful moves. The game doesn't really stress how important it is to have your Pictos right for your playstyle.

Parrying is much more effective than dodging. Not only do you get the benefit of the counter attack, but it's easier to build AP that way too.

I'm in the endgame now just fukking around with the additional dungeons...let me tell you...there's ALOT of game here. This is GOTY hands down.
