He's right. If you go to the Indiana comments page for the article addressing what Cowherd said, you see a bunch of racist comments from cacs. "Nobody wants to see a bunch of overpaid, pistol packing thugs" " We don't like bassetball" "It's not watchable because of all the thugs, the nfl is like that too". Basically a bunch of cacs making negative, racially based generalizations based on ignorance, so business as usual.

Thundering Herd - ESPN

very good listen... fwd to :3:40 mark or so

talks about why NBA Players are judged differently then NFL, MLB Players.... why Indiana Pacers wont supper the team cuz its too black :blessed:

basically the same shyt we talk about in the Coli everyday :troll:

I grew up a BIG Pacer fan until Larry Bird ruined the team and traded for Dunleavy/Murphy and basically made the entire team white minus Jamaal Tinsley

The teams you mention aren't any good. People are having problem with indiana because it is the 3rd best team in the NBA.

Atlanta ain't good??

They've been a top 3-5 team for awhile now.

Philly was in the playoffs last year and are in the hunt this year as well.

Just Sayin'

Indianapolis is also one of the smaller markets in the NBA

While theyres some of that probably can someone explain to me why its ok that black people dont like the nhl because they have nobody to identify with but if white peoople dont like the nba for that reason their card carrying klansmen?

Whast the difference? Just because people want to watch a sport with players they can identify with doesnt automatically make them bigots

Cause "nikkas dont do that hockey sh*t, son":childplease:

And for what it's worth, if you take away "cacs", as y'all say, away from NBA games for a month, the NBA is gonna go under. Every game I wach, the visible crowd is 90% white.

Indiana was a good team last year too. Better than Atlanta too. Same as this year.

Plus Indy is a basketball state.

My Pops Forever RIP
why do the pacers have such poor attendance despite making the playoffs and having all star representation the past few years between hibbert, granger, and george?

Have you seen a Pacer game? I love George I love Granger, Hill, Lance, West, etc., but collectively they are boring as fukk if we're gonna be honest. It's not as if Indiana is tuning out Lob City.

That said, it's Indiana /B1G country. They should be used to watching struggle ball.

what are you "just saying"? Are you slow?

Why do you keep bringing up Philly? Indy is a much better team, with a much better chance at competing for an EC title, yet Philly is outperforming them attendance wise...so what is your point exactly, and how does it challenge Cowherd's overall point?

Atlanta has a sterling reputation as being an awful basketball city that has never supported its team. They are a unique market.

All the other teams the Pacers are lumped with attendance wise are terrible.

The Chi (South Side)
you can even throw in Cleveland and New Orleans in to the bottom 10 of NBA attendance...and neither of those teams would be consider "white" cities

maybe there are more factors involved.......

bulls are playing the hornets tonight, and the entire top section of the arena doesn't even have the lights on.

I checked stubhub and saw that tickets for the next hornets game cost under $2 and you can get really really good tickets for under $50. a lot of good tickets are under $20. I'd go to plenty of NBA games if they were that reasonably priced here.

I'm "just sayin"....in case YOU are slow...that maybe its not all about RACE and that there are more factors involved in why fans aren't coming out to the games like that.
even to teams that ARE playoff teams. I don't give a fukk what Atlanta's reputation is..it doesn't exclude them from this list.

or maybe their reputation for being a TERRIBLE sports city overall is the fact that its a majority black city??

is that fair to say??

and on top of that teams like Washington, NO, Cleveland, etc ALL have star players that are exciting to watch.

shieet, me personally I'd rather go watch John Wall or Kyrie Irving than the fukking Pacers. I don't care what their record is

Daamn, I wish I could get tickets for prices like that.
I haven't seen $20 seats in years.

just looking economically around the country and you can tell which teams are having good attendance based on their "markets"
