I've watched CrossFit and other similar competitions. It's a good way to get injured. Doing snatches with heavy weight. Think about Olympic weight lifting, you go for your best one-rep max, if you don't make it, you throw the weight down. Crossfit, you are doing multiple snatches.

Oh and this? Why put all that stress on one your neck? I don't know, because you want to damage cartilage?

This is what I was saying above. I've watched all the crossfit games (they're on netflix and espn on demand and maybe even youtube) and they are a travesty.
Fun to watch but

As you said above, in Olympic lifs, 1 rep and done.
AND IF YOU CANNOT GET IT YOU BAIL OUT OF THE FUKKING LIFT
Crossfitters never bail properly. Its not ingrained int the crossfit culture.
They are doing high reps on high load and just trying to see which will break first, their body or their will.
There's this one clip of Thosdotter doing a dead lift that looks like she's giving birth. And instead of bailing she keeps trying for about a good 15 seconds.
Breh... if your deadlift takes 15 seconds... you are doing too much weight

I'll stick to regular weights
Most people would fine enough just joggin/running and doing regular lifting. Crossfit seems like it took off because it fit the yuppie/hipster instagram type of lifestyle.
