Still richer than him
Jay just signed another deal. Don't you think he doesn't want to do it?
He signed what he wanted to do, no one forced him to sign it. And I don't know if he has to tour, or if he just has to record albums cause the album deals was just albums. And I don't know what Jay-z has said that he owns, that he doesn't.Figuratively speaking he's probably said that he owns The Garden, New York and Barclays to make hot bars once or twice, with the latter probably referencing to some stake, stores and that they sell all his shyt their. But he also called himself a communist and Brad Pitt to make hot bars. We're talking in interviews or serious songs, please send the link.
Jay Z, Live Nation Enter Into New Long Term Deal, Continue Roc Nation Partnership: Exclusive
In 2008, Jay Z and Live Nation entered into a $150 million, 10-year 360 deal to cover his next three albums, publishing and other assets and the formation of Roc Nation as a joint venture between Jay and Live Nation. With the terms of that deal now nearing completion, a spokesperson for Live Nation today tells Billboard that the promoter has a new deal with Jay in place, and will remain equity partners with Roc Nation.
"Live Nation has a new long term deal with Jay Z and we expect to continue being equity partners in Roc Nation for many years to come," the spokesperson told Billboard in a statement.
While terms of the new deal were not disclosed, the new agreement does not appear to be an extension of the current 360 arrangement, and instead mostly covers his touring business.
Jay Z and Live Nation will continue to operate Roc Nation’s management and recorded music business as a joint venture. Live Nation has let many of its 360 recorded-music deals sunset and has largely gotten out of the recorded music business, although through its various joint ventures it does retain some label holdings
Because you love performing, have you seen these old ass rock bands rich as fukk near 100 years old still touring? Bob Dylan has been on tour for 25 years straight. Have you seen the thousands of karaoke places around the world?
Now add that you make millions for an hours or two, these people grossed 100 million bucks for like 19 shows. Now you can take that 100 million and buy more buildings, donate more to protestors, help more people in Africa, send more people to college and invest in more to make more. All made possible from doing what you love? How does that not make sense.
It's like asking why do billionaire CEOs go to work at 8 every morning and work 12 hour days? Cause they enjoy it, not cause they have to. Add to that they make more money.
Warren Buffett lives like he makes 400k per year and work 12 hours a day in his average ass Nebraska office and he's worth what? 70- 80 billion?
You actually doubt that Every single one of those dudes, except for Eminem maybe, would do a hop skip and a jump to go on tour if a company like live Nation fronted them 100 million to do so? Snoop been exhausting EVERY avenue literally imaginable to squeeze every dime possible outta his brand for 20 years now, you think he's scoffing at big money tours because he thinks a 4th season of his basic cable cooking show with Martha Stewart is the more appropriate and dignified gig for an artist of his age and stature ?
That's what big time legacy acts do... I'm struggling to understand how we're acting like a musician making millions to tour is beneath them or some shyt... We've been saying forever that our legends deserve to make that big late-career nostalgia bag that rock legends do
I don’t see Dre but I’ve never seen Dre except in 99-00 and 92-93 on video. But why do you think that Jay is like Dr. Dre and not like Bono or Elton John? There's a difference between getting up to go to work and the rigors of touring when you're damn near 50 with a wife and 2 kids.
If I were a billionaire with a wife and kids, the last thing I would be doing would be doing is spending my time touring. Having to travel city to city, dealing with jet lag, rehearsal, sound check, performance.......fukk all that if you're truly a billionaire. Going to the office and running businesses, that makes sense......touring, fukk no.
You think Dr. Dre wants to fukking tour right now? You barely see that guy.
Indie??.....Jay dropped albums every fall when he was indie

Right now none of those are outside of em is in demand. We all saw Ross BM expose 50, if he could get a 150 mill front from somebody to make albums and tour he would.Ice Cube
Dre
Snoop
Eminem
50
Aren’t touring. They’ll do selective shows/festivals
This is expected.. they’re old bro.. nikkas can’t keep going state to state performing (working out, eating unhealthy, doing drugs etc) in front of thousands of people
You’re starting to scare me a little
It's just that he can afford to do it on a bigger stage/higher level than most others. Brooklyn Nets deal kind of "exposed" this a while ago but lettuce stop acting like ONLY being worth 400 mil is some kind of negative
When you sign a deal with a financial backer you’re still a boss. Companies fund a lot of their asssets with loans. That doesn’t mean that the lenders own them and they aren’t bosses. Just as Microsoft for example signs deals with companies to supply them with it-services that they have to deliver on according to the contract. This is only advanced for people that get their economics schooling from Sc00n and Dame Dash. Of course if you want complete autonomy you shouldn’t be in the business of signing deals and you should not fukk with investors not even banks or street dudes. Economically speaking that’s the same thing. With the his Sc00n logic Warren Buffet is not the boss cause he has obligations. Even if he could buy a country.
. U mean making concert-friendly music?I'm a huge fan of Jay's earlier music but I started to see the pimp game he was being used to roll out on his fans.
I don't agree with that and he needs to be humbled for allowing himself to be used by cacs.

Cash Money has a deal with Universal with a split, just like any other company. Their split is allegedly a lot better than most though. And in Wayne’s lawuit there was also talk about major un-recouped dollars that Cash Money still has to make for UMG.This is all good until you factor in how much Jay likes to talk about ownership and being anti-establishment. Notice since that Live Nation deal he aint talking none of that retirement talk like he did every album since 1996.
Rap and his reality are two different things. The fact that there are very very few truly Black owned hip-hop labels like Cash Money is sad.
