You guys still don't get it, none of these artists you mentioned markets themselves as billionaire businessmen who doesn't have to make music. Bono and U2 have always been artists FIRST. Jay-Z's whole shtick was that he wasn't a rapper, he's a hustler who just so happens to rap and is this BOSS when in reality he's just an artist and a worker. He takes out large advances from Live Nation and has to get on the road every year to support his lifestyle.

He's not Robert F. Smith (a real black billionaire). He's just an artist and a worker and there's nothing wrong with that........but so many people get caught up in the lies. That's all Sc00n was trying to tell everyone. Believe half of what you see, none of what you hear.

Respect broski but Playing devils advocate, I thought of an alternate perspective, since Jay-Zs whole Schlick is imma hustler 1st, rapper/artist 2nd, then wouldn’t it behoove him as a hustler to get as much money as possible from different deals & business ventures, since he has a hustler BOSS mentality, let’s look at from a street perspective, if you got the money upfront 2 buy 50 kilos, but you’re connect is willing 2 front you 50 kilos on consignment at a cheaper price, then why spend all you’re money, if somebody’s willing 2 back you financially, Does that make you less of a boss or plug? Especially since your still supplying you’re clientele, I look at micheal rapino & live nation as a plug & bigger connect that’s supplying Jay-Z

Whether he's a billionaire or not, he's still a lot more successful than most people alive will ever be. Instead of criticizing, Curtis should use Jay's story and motivate himself to win. Entertainers and people in general over exaggerate themselves all the time.

why the F*CK do I care if Jay is really a billionaire or not? I don't....

Doesn't mean his sentiment of Black empowerment is any less true.

"It's only entertainment" - Jay Z

we BEEN telling yall his whole schtick of black empowerment is phony.

this Curtis sc00n cat aint saying nothing new.

I'd say that Curtis kinda is.

I mean we talking about an old street dude who operates various own businesses and not dead or in jail. He might
not be Jay-Z rich (whatever that means..) but he definitely living better than alot of folks i believe.

As for what he said;

Its something ive kinda figured before. But i dont only think its about the image of it all but also
to be a model for us, meaning who Hip-hop was made by and its target audience (black people/minorities/people in the struggle etc).

I actually believe alot of the same goes for 2pac and his image and myths (or whatever you wanna call it) since he passed.

I think its because hip-hop/the hood/black people or whatever want and need more role models succeeding in life in a major way. Not in a
street way neither. I mean how many of us dont look up or know somebody that wants to be like a 2pac, a Jay-Z etc etc in some shape or fashion?

So i think thats kinda-sorta what it is.

What bothers me is so many people will be shocked about this.

I'm also convinced Jay is the one who made so many people act like "networth" is the same as annual salary. I had to remind people alot over the years that it isn't. Neither Jay or B are even halfway to being a billionaire, neither make close to 500 million a year. So it will be funny seeing how shocked people act. They just listen to whatever a celeb tells them.

My man’s voice is shot.. I saw him on the MCHG tour in 2013

I wouldn’t pay money for it anymore.. it’s not the same.

Some brehs brought up some really good/fair points about why he would still tour. I just don’t agree with them given my analysis of the situation.

Curtis Sc00n is way out of pocket talking about Jay’s business on Twitter.

Now my wife may want to see Beyoncé.... :manny:
Maybe u caught him on a bad night. I went to the 4:44 tour and made in America last year and he performed crazy songs and his voice sounded great.

He was performing shyt like pump it up free style and all type of b side songs. Was the great concert I ever seen(his set at made in America)

He performed for like 2 hours and only guess was meek as a encore(cause it was in philly)

You can earn 1 dollar a year and still be a billionaire. What the fukk are you talking about :mjlol:

And being a billionaire is about what you are worth it you sell everything you own net of what you owe.

Didnt Jay and Beyonce buy a $90 mil house in LA recently? If the sale went thru, I think it’s reasonable to speculate he has close to a billy. A house that costs that much is clearly billionaire territoy - unless Jay’s stupid with his money (which I doubt) or the agent inflated the price for publicity.

Breh I don’t even feel comfortable with this thread anymore..

I gave my personal opinion on Sc00n’s perspective and some speculation but he’s really out of pocket.

I don’t want to see any brother go under..

Gotta learn when to cash out before the house gets it back

Like when I used to be in the hood shooting dice and spankin dudes and purposely lose a few times so they get some of it back to avoid having to use my gun

Jay should know better

The Nets minority ownership thing was basically public knowledge.
I don’t just ball, nikka I owns the team...

The Nets can go 0 and 82 and I’ll look at you like shyt gravy...

And other braggadocious lyrics.

He purposely misled his fans and got them to buy into the Nets as if they were buying into him and Hip-Hop. Had other rap acts scrambling for team ownership. It was an intended illusion he was put up to. I say that as a fan. That whole roll out of Tidal was when I was officially through with Jay-Z’s con games.
