Joey BADA$$ is as skilled and creative as Kendrick. He just independent and don't got the Interscope machine behind him. :mjpls:

Kendrick's presence is barely felt in this shyt :russell:
The machine responses to what people gravitate towards and amplifies. Also @Ziggiy said Kendrick level of talent, not Kendrick level push (which can be said about most mainstream rappers). Your posting comes off like you don't believe the man is that talented or creative at all :mjpls:

These new kids aren't rapping like that breh its over for that.

Today's rapper is more worried about melodies, one liners/quotables, vibes, ad libs, flows, hooks, production. Some of these kids aren't bad for bar for bar but it isn't the main focus of the music. What is traditionally considered rapping at a high level isn't popular. When Drake, J. Cole, Kendrick become flabby I don't know who is going to take over as the mainstream "spitters".

The most popular young rappers among the youth in NY are guys like A-Boogie, Lil TJay, Lil Tecca, J.I., T.J. Porter, Jay Critch, Jay Gwuapo and the guys coming out the Brooklyn drill scene like 22G'z, Pop Smoke, Fivio Foreign, Sheff G, Sleep Hallow, Jay Dee, Nas Blicky, etc.

A rapper like Dave East is one of the last of the Mohicans. You got others like Don Q, Young Zay, Neek Bucks, Nino Man, Envy Caine who don't get as much love.

Even when you go to Philly outside of Meek, the biggest rappers are Lil Uzi and PnB Rock. Even Meek has had to adjust his songmaking. Then you got guys like Kur who primarily raps and makes classic Philly soul pain music who is relegated to the street lane.

These kids can make all the gang gang, autotune garbage they want as long as they don't call themselves KONY.

The one thing I agree with him on is the people have to crown you that. Not you or the industry.

For the new generation, for where hip-hop is going, and what young people nationwide are rocking with A-Boogie wit da Hoodie is the KoNY :mjpls:

I love old school Hip Hop but nikkas got to move forward
For real. But then again, if there are no other worthy heirs then I'd rather the crown stay on the old, yet reputable and deserving, person's head. If it's not Nas or Jay-z or somebody else from the 90's then who would be the king? :gag: @ the thought alone, lol

Hes right in a way but they need someone to give the torch too

LA dudes literally made a ceremony out of giving it to Kendrick years back

Scarface as KIng of the South said anyone can have it and I guess TI took it

Hov or Nas would have to publicly co sign someone for a crown.

:mjlol:Kendrick? nikka please...We had one of those back in the days. His name was Keith Murray and he wasn’t cracking anybody’s top 5 at the time

Plus he doesn’t have the presence to hold the city down
You're asking for negs. :picard:

How can you post on a hip hop forum and have such a terrible ass opinion? :picard:

You fail to cite that Drake was much bigger on his last 2 tours and did bigger venues

Jay z has never sold out garden 4 nights in a row. You’re talking like Migos and Future do arenas with Drake

anyway, the main point is that Jay z touring is due to his large, core fanbase not cause he’s making huge albums and there’s a feverish rush to see him live

He’s a legacy act at this point, hence the reason I saw the 444 tour for $10

Yeah, but he did sell out the Garden in a day.

He's like a young Marvin in his hey.

I like A Boogie but KONY isn't just a popularity contest. He isn't claiming it because he knows what it means.

He does the things that make a good contemporary rap artist for today's listener exceptionally well and that has to count for something :hubie:

His numbers are there and his musical quality, output, influence is there

There will never be rappers like Nas, Jay Z, B.I.G. ever again

Boogie don't claim it because these new rappers aren't concerned with that type of shyt and Boogie stay away from controversy.

A Boogie isn't a rapper. That shyt that he and he doing ain't rapping. Same goes for Future and them other nikkas.
This is the game now though. These guys aren't rapping as we knew it and loved it. :mjcry:

The hottest young nikka from NY is A-Boogie

The hottest young nikka from Philly is Lil Uzi

The hottest young nikka from LA is Roddy Rich

The hottest young nikka from Chi is Juice WRLD

Meanwhile guys like Dave East and G-Herbo doing about 25K in sales in their first week :francis:

How do we judge this shyt with the direction it's going in? :francis:
