Tone's judgement was faulty Kill Ralph over a horse but give Chris a million passes, everyone resented that. Even risking a war over TonyB. made him look goofy.
Chris was blood (somewhat) and he took care of him like a son. He was molding Chris to be the underboss. I think he was made too damn soon. But Chris was an earner with elsborate schemes to make money (Wimbistics), something an old-school jackass like Paulie could never think of. Chris was more hip to the game. Patsy and Paulie were old school, just check the Starbucks scene when he was trying to hassle the black manager for protection pay. Chris didn’t have to hassle small businesses for money.

He probably did. He could've helped run New Jersey with Paulie and Patsy.
it would’ve been a weak crew as far as earners go. An enforcer and two old-school gangsters. Those two were fading away, like I said in the previous post check the Starbucks scene. They needed a Chris or Ralph to make money.

About 12 people or more from NY got killed. Sure they were winning.. Every speaking character from NY got killed except Butchie and his man.
Who were the 12? Tone himself said that New York had more buttons than a dress. Who had more leadership? Tone didn't even trust Paulie like that yet he had to make him the Underboss and run the old Aprile (and I guess his own) crew.

Who was gonna step up in Paulie's crew? Little Paulie? the one who got his ass beat by Eugene then Chris and did nothing both times?

New York just used him to get rid of Phil and rid their hands of him. Best believe they still wacked him of principle. 2 birds one stone shyt. They would have lost all street cred once it got out tony killed a 5 family boss and was still breathing. That’s why they didn’t give tony his location at the meeting they wanted total deniability.

see thats the thing though..

I dont think NY particularly cares about street Cred. Especially since Phil was fukking with their money.

Like that was the rub right? Phil was such a a$$hole because he was the only one who believed in a absolutist view of Omerta.

i always viewed the Sopranos ultimate message is that the "morals" and "rules" of the Mob is bullshyt.....

Because AMERICAs belief in morals, law and order, and values is bullshyt.

The Sopranos is Chase coming to terms with America being a sold out, materialistic, greedy, murdering, hypocritical nation and that if we cant change, it will catch up with us.

Yeah Furio is more of an enforcer like p*ssy was more than a Boss. Like I said they would've come under the thumb of New York anyway. It was bound to happen, That was what Tony was avoiding the whole time.

The Godfather reference was the shooter going into the bathroom, but it wouldn't make sense to not have the gun on him.

It seems weird but maybe Mead did fukk up by mentioning the meet up to Pat's son.

Completely unrelated to the subject of the thread, but the Godfather is kind of a later version of a movie called "House of Strangers." House of Strangers had Edgar G. Robinson, Susan Haywood and Richard Conte in it. Conte interestingly enough played Don Bazinni in the Godfather.

Anyway the storyline in House of Strangers has a lot of themes and similarities to the Godfather, except that the fight is among the father and his sons. Anyway Conte played a role in House of Strangers that is very similar to that of Michael Corleone in the Godfather. So if anyone is into old movies then House of Strangers is decent.

At least Everybody Hates Chris subtly gave away the ending with the number painted on Julius truck. It's a good thing that they ended the show at that point though as Chris father passed away in real life a few months away after those events :mjcry:
The question is Did Chris pass his GED????

i think they are working together. agree to take out the bosses of their families because its mutually beneficial

but there are so many clues that paulie is in on it. that whole episode where they go to florida is for paulie to come to the conclusion that tony doesnt trust him and hes gonna end up like p*ssy unless he does something. then in the last episode hes jumpy and nervous around him and the cat stares at him in his final appearance (earlier in the episode tony tells paulie the cat is looking at a 'rat in the wall' - paulie is the rat talking to NY).

patsy they've been setting up for seasons since the shyt with his dead brother. there are also some signs patsy is in on it at that meeting his family has with the sopranos.

this video goes pretty in depth:

there's also a whole theory that that girl AJ is seing in the last few episodes, rhiannon, is the way they find out where tony is going to be eating. but i think its a little flimsy

I definitely see that. More likely Patsy's son got the info from Meadow. New York ordering the hit and Patsy and Paulie doing the dirty work. They lead the crews.

Then that was the wackest ending of all time because there was nobody that makes sense to kill Tony. NY gave the approval to kill Phil.. Bobby dead, Sil in the hospital, why would someone take out Tony when the crew is on it's last leg. It doesn't make sense at all.

NJ killed a New York 5 family BOSS in front of his family.

And there's a decent chance they knew he was talking to the feds.

You do know that killing Tony to avoid payment would just start a war.. My god people are stupid. This was a bad ending and there's no logical way to explain it.
What war? Tony has no hitta's left apart from Paulie who has wanted to jump ship in the past and the brother of a man he whacked. There's 2 made men by the end.

Even if you convinced yourself he didn't get gunned down...he was going to prison for the rest of his life because people were gonna testify against him
Yeah that's why I always interpreted it as a panic attack initially - after Dr. Melfi ended their sessions, he was definitively deemed as hopeless and had nobody on his side anymore - most of his crew is either dead or not fukkin with him, his family is moving on, Carmella's just counting down to whenever he drops dead - so whether he lived or died there, his life was basically over anyway. If he lived, he'd be wondering for the rest of his life who was coming through the door and having that paranoia build up into panic attacks he'd never get to the bottom of. Or he'd get clipped. He was food.
