On another note, just today I was going to make a new thread, i wrote it all and everything but decided I probably wouldn't get a mature debate going here.
So general direction it would have taken is, since I guess i consider myself a left leaning libertarian if i were to be open minded about free healthcare it would have to come from an authoritative government.
If I am to be forced to pay for other people's healthcare I want to be forced to pay for their healthcare NOT their lifestyle.
Govt. would have to ban cigarettes, ban trans-fats, and assume a stronger role in lifestyle.
See everyone talks about socialist countries like Canada, Sweeden and Switzerland and Denmark.
But americans don't look like them, all the countries people compare the U.S. too don't look like them. Americans ARE OBESE!!!!
If people are being forced to pay for other people's health then obese people should be forced to go on diets and on a treadmill.
It is way easier for me to be a free-healthcare advocate while living in Canada where not almost everyone is Obese than in the United States.
So for me to be more open minded on free healthcare in America, it would have to come from a more authoritative govt., and I am against authoritative govts.
So... how can I cross that bridge?
